On my Branson 4020 with the Ansung loader I have what I'd call a "half protective grill/bumper". It comes halfway down from the top, then stops. It is open from the lights down to the front lower bumper. I realized I was exposed somewhat when running up to a large brush pile and raising my loader to drop some roots. Any limbs sticking out of the pile had a straight shot at my front grill/radiator area. Does Branson make a full protective front bumper? I am thinking about modifying mine to add a lower half. Anyone else see this as an issue, or done anything to improve upon?

Pete,

We carry these. I think they are a little under $100 for the grill protector. Your idea of modifying yours is a good one though.

I've got to head out to a church work day right now (having equipment makes one very popular on days such as this!), but I'll try to snap a photo of one and post it later this weekend.

I sell the Aldomi grill guards for that machine. they are about $200.00.

A GOOD grill guard is important only if you are concerned about protecting that $450.00 grill.

nothing wrong with welding some heavy expanded metal to the front of that loader frame.

A GOOD grill guard is cheep protection. common sence goes a long way also.

happy tractoring and be careful.

Thanks for the info, Virgil. I've seen some pretty good set-ups from your fellow Texans down there...using the expanded metal to cover the grill. If mine was full length, I would do that with the u-bolts . There must be a lot of gnarly brush down your way...

No it didn't come that way. I did it myself. Just put the grill guard back on same day I posted.

After damaging my grill I had to do something. So just added extra bars and if that's not enough will add steel mesh over it. I think this will work out though.

Also I filled rear tires with windshield washer fluid...works Great...night & day difference.

Ron,
What color paint did you use and how close did it match?

Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry,

Branson has a spray can of touch-up paint. "Branson Red" Dealer had it...matches perfectly.
