My bh77 has 1 pin that will not take grease. It removed the zerk and it is clean I sprayed the pin out with carb cleaner it appears to be drilled through. I ran a wire in and the grease that’s in it is not hard but I do not get any grease to the pivot point. I am trying not to have to pull the pin out. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Every now and again, that will happen to my BH76. I've found if I change the pressure exerted on the pin, I can get it to take grease. So, if your BH is resting on the ground, lift it. If it is suspended in the air, then set it on the ground with light pressure. Remember those back hoe's like molybdenum grease

I have gone as far as trying to pump grease with it slowly moving and can’t find the sweet spot. It’s almost as if there was a bur from manufacturing and the grease grime the factory and first few times from me moved it to the end and blocked the exit the machine is less than a year old

Might try swapping the grease fittings from another pin to determine if the zerk or pin is the problem first. Agree that sometimes I have move the joint to allow grease to flow.

Install a new zerk.

If that does not work, remove the pin and inspect.

I once bought a grapple bucket that had one zerk that would not take. Turns out that the hole into which the zerk was installed had not been drilled completely through.

I found two colors of grease on the zerk indicating that at least two folks, probably at manufacturer and dealer, had attempted to grease it but did not care when it would not take.

Sometimes when looking at a problem it's helpful to make a list of everything it could be, and then solving them from easiest to most difficult.

1. It could be the zerk. Take it out and test it.
2. It could be an incompleted drilling. With the zerk out, you may be able to tell if that is the problem.
3. Only if it isn't #1 or #2, is it necessary to pull the pin.
I guess it is possible that a pin could fit so tightly in the bushing that there is no room for grease...though I've never seen it.
More likely is that incompatible greases were used and they hardened...closing down the necessary clearance for grease to flow. I have seen that, as have most mechanics. It's a chemical reaction that makes a grease into a solid. If that is the case, heat won't help.

Had a entry gate hinge that sounded terrible when brother bought the place… it would not take grease.

Brought out my two setting for pressure gun and it was touch and go but it worked…

x2 on the incompatible greases. I tell folks that service their own equipment not the interchange greases, along with brands of greases.

Grease isn't just grease... it's actually highly sophisticated now a days.

Is it building pressure before failing to go in? A damaged fitting won’t seal.

My BH92 was delivered with one pin on a stabilizer not cross-drilled. The dealer didn't notice when they set it up and I didn't notice it at the first greasing. I did figure out something was wrong at the second greasing and pulled the pin to inspect.

Warranty work being what it is, they wanted to take the tractor to the shop and do the work there. I had to convince them to just R&R the pin since it was sitting on their desk. Had to order it though. I put the bad pin back in for a week while waiting.

I was greasing my loader and I always thought it was taking grease, Loader has been it the shed for years. Here it was not drilled through the side of the pin. I had 2 that way

I've been greasing equipment for years never had a problem mixing grease of course I grease the fitting till I see the grease start to come out of the joint so if there's a problem with the mix the new grease is about 60 to 80% in that location the next time more like 5 to 100% problem Solved

My brand new BH wouldnt take grease on one of the swing pins. Turned out that K factory installed a pin without a grease slot. Grease had nowhere to go. Fixed under warranty.

Something so elementary but with a prolong affect on longevity...

Something Dealer pre delivery checklist is suppose to catch but makes one wonder how the pins passed QC?

My uncle was meticulous greasing zerks... no mater summer or winter, rain or shine... said the farm couldn't afford to be without the tractor which will soon be 75 years old...
