I agree. if you are going into un-charted territory, keep the FEL down. And that's coming from the bent tie rod pioneer! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yes, I agree. Learned my lesson, the hard way /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

I thought we were talking about one part??? And yes, I would say there was some venting going on, (that's fine). My point was that I don't believe it is fair to judge because of availability on ONE part. I guess time will tell the real story.

Have a nice weekend! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

true........but the part is not some obscure left handed axle housing gear pin actuator. By the direction of this thread I'm glad I was able to repair bent tie rod!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just an observation here but it is not ONE part. Just on this forum there are 6 or 7 tractors with the SAME bent part. Now realizing that TBN users are a small minority of tractor owners, it seems reasonable to believe that there are more bent tie rods than just these 6 or 7 and it also seems reasonable to believe that it is a fairly common problem for this model given the reports here.

I think the common problem is hitting objects sticking up higher than the tie rod. It would be nice if it were higher up, I moved all my Jeep steering gear up for that reason.

Gee...Kinda new here...just took delivery of my Ck20 TLB...glad I got that one rather then the CK30...not sure I really want to worry about getting a left handed axle housing gear pin actuator

Can anyone tell me what that does and if I really need to know?
Thanks

Sammi, thanks for making me smile this morning.

To the others.....When I said one part, I meant one piece of the tractor. If there are 6 or 7 bent rods, to me that is one part on 6 or 7 different tractors. This thread is about one part of the tractor and it's unavailability, (or did I miss something)?

Oh well, looking forward to cuuting and hauling some firewood this morning while it's cool. I'll keep an eye out for stumps too. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Good news. I replaced the tie rod with the pirated part and got to work on some side jobs. I mowed 6 acres of eye high on the tractor thistle, fescue, and other weeds in to a nice pulp for 10 hours, that field was not smooth. Then hit about a half acre of 8 foot tall blackberries for about 4 hours.

We have a thing in the off-road motorcycle world called monkey butt. A bouncy tractor for 10 hours causes monkey butt.

My tie rod.... still straight. I was extremely **** about not running over anything that wasn't flat and I must have checked that tie rod once per hour.

right, one part, multiple damaged machines but one part. I'm glad you agree. The left handed axle housing gear pin actuator is made up. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I received my replacement tie rod yesterday. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Ordered on 9/8 received on 9/19. Not too bad for a back ordered part. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Hey, I bent my left handed axle housing gear pin actuator last week! I switched it with an extra right handed torque extender pin and everything was fine. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The way I use my machine I might be better off ordering a tie rod now...its only a matter of time...

tell us how you did that? left and right are not interchangeable unless you.................swapped ends???!!!

I thnk it was said best that if the tie rod is bent in the future, just adjust the toe in and keep on truckin'. The front wheels don't know the tie rod is bent. There is a good thing about this that if you do bend the tie rod, put the bent area towards the motor so it doesn't hang down so low............hhhhmmm /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Ok ok I give up...this must be important..can someone please tell me what the left handed axle housing gear pin actuator is and what it's used for?
All these people breakin/bending stuff...don't want that to happen to m Ck20hst....

Does my ck even have one of these?

I need some rest.. my head hurts.. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And to make matter worse they are all runnning low on Blinker fluid and as AJ would say "the torque converter's runnnin' low on torque"... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sammi>> not trying to bust yer chops here.. we all have days like that, but you brought tears to my eyes with all that.. have a good one my friend... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I wish I had a picture of the link that a customer bent in half on a 3054. The steel bent into a big "U" before it snapped the tierod threads. bent it str8 and borrowed my favorite Lancaster natives welder and weld the end back on, so I could get it loaded on the truck.
