Calling all Summit tractor owners

I thought it would be a great thread where Summit tractor owners can share the number of hours they have put on their Summit tractor and list the problem(s) /repair issues they have had with their Summit tractor since they purchase. This would be very helpful so we can learn and watch out for the same issue(s) on our own tractor.
Myself I currently have 125 hours and have owned for 2.5yrs.
Issue #1 E-brake switch went bad so you could not get off the tractor seat while the tractor was running. Replaced myself / Summit supplied the part.
Issue #2 drive shaft knocking. Bent the small cover plate under the floor mat below the ignition switch. Performed the work myself. No parts required.
Issue #3 front right tire hub leaking differential fluid. Removed hub assembly, tightened bolt and tab washer. Performed the work myself. No parts required.

Would anyone else like to share. Thanks for your participation.

380 hours (I mistyped this as 330 in a recent post).

The TX25 handles 70 acres of hardwoods, trails, ~3/4 miles of drive way and parking for three structures.

I have a few other implements and attachments, but I primarily operate my TX25 with Summit’s grapple, rake, BoxPlane, rear blade, Woodland Mills WC46 chipper, and (red) HLA 1500 snow pusher.

The clock should reflect that I use the tractor regularly. So far, I have not run into an issue that I have not be able to repair myself.

All in all, I’d classify all but one of the issues I experienced as minor. This is a fairly complete list of minor issues I’ve run into:

Upholstery defect on seat on delivery: warranty replacement
A couple of missing accessories on delivery: warranty replacement
Bent top link hanger on delivery: warranty replacement
Pinched coolant hose (frame contact): warranty replacement
Failed cruise control unit: warranty replacement
Gas cap seal/gasket failure: warranty replacement
U-Joint and footwell guard made contact: instructed on how to fix

While the sound of the footwell guard making contact with the spinning u-joint had me thinking I blew something inside my engine(!) for a hot minute, in practice the only not-minor repair I’ve run into was a hydraulic leak that required taking off the steering wheel, dash parts and hood in order to reach a loose fitting. It was easy to fix but disassembly and reassembly required a lot of time.

As I’ve said many times on this board, Summit has been very responsive to all of the issues I’ve experienced. Callbacks and email replies are always polite, reliable and swift. Parts delivery is fast.

All of this was true even during the ownership transition.

So…so far so very good.

Fingers crossed my TX25 remains reliable, as I not only enjoy working with the tractor quite a bit but it has proven to punch above its weight, proven itself to be an incredible value and Summit’s provided an excellent customer service experience every time I needed their help.

Knocking on wood since I’m getting close to the warranty expiration and I’m also not near an authorized service center.

Thanks for your information. My 3-yr warranty will expire in Sept this year. Sounds like we purchased pretty near the same time. Best regards to you and your Summit tractor.

I bought mine in February 2024 and as of March 2026 it has 96 hours on it. Initially the hydraulic hoses for the dump/curl functions were swapped and that was an easy over-the-phone fix. In February 2026 the 1/4" Allen head set screw that holds the joystick cable groove in place so the loader could go up/down kept slipping out of the groove which had wallowed out. I filed the groove a bit deeper so a new set screw could get a better bite into the groove and then all was fine.

Wow, I haven't posted to these forums in many years! I like your idea, so here it goes. Bought my Summit tractor in May 2025. Today it has 25 hours. So far, replaced the seat headrest due to discoloration. Replaced one of the 3PH links because I needed a 16-inch pipe wrench to turn it. The seat didn't want to adjust when I first got it. Emailed Summit and they said to hose it down with WD40 and keep trying. It did free up, but it is still kinda stiff. I attribute all of these items to the fact that the tractor sat outside at the retailer where I bought it for I'm guessing a year or more. Some time last summer I was checking the tire pressures and the valve stem on one of the rear tires started to leak the beet juice. After getting over the initial panic, I replaced the core in the stem and so far it has been good. Finally, in Nov-Dec I noticed a fuel leak coming from the right side of the engine. Turned out that the fuel pump itself was leaking. Summit sent a replacement pump but with all the cold and snow here in the northeast I haven't replaced it yet. It's on my todo list. I have a pic of that - the red arrow is pointing to a drip ready to fall. So far everything has been covered by warranty.

I haven't used the tractor a bunch yet. I am planning on getting some rear attachments to help on my property - A box blade and a flail mower. So far I have added some ballast weights on the rear for when I use the forks. As we get into nicer weather I will be doing more.

Let me throw in a few pet peeves. I didn't think my foot was excessively large, but I have a hard time not pressing on both pedals when I am doing alot of forward and backward. Maybe if I were barefoot?? Also, I did like wearing the seatbelt on my previous Kubota. The seatbelt on the Summit is just a little too short for me. Guess I have gotten a little too "tall" in my old age!
