Looks to be undersized from the Factory. My TC48 came with a 700CCA factory battery. Replaced with an 850CCA battery.

I get so confused with battery quality now days. I have 2 different interstate batteries as an example. Battery 1 was installed in my kioti tractor 3 years ago, it was an exact replacement, brand and size, of the original battery that lasted 11 years. It died in 2 years and was replaced under warranty on October of last year. Its dead again. Dealer thinks bumpy ride of tractor is causing this from flooded battery, but than why did previous one last 11 years. Makes no sence. I replaced it last friday with a deka AGM and installed a battery maintainer, because the stupid battery cost $280.

The same original interstate battery is used in my dump trailer and that battery is running strong 10 years now, but has always had battery maintainer in use.

I also have a battery maintainer in my horse trailer. I just checked the CCA on that battery and its still 585 for a 650 battery. And its 14 years old according to the sticker. But this is a deep cycle interstate unit. There all the same interstate battery.

It has to be the battery maintainer at play. And there only 1 amp units.

I replaced the agm in my new to me F150 with a $300 agm. Now im thinking of placing a trickle charger on that also to extend its life.

I just noticed that it calls itself a "Junior" charger, and it says it's for motorcycles and ATV's. I'm guessing that it's too small for a tractor?

That is a bit small for a 800 CCA battery. I have been using the Plus model which is 1.25 amp and has been flawless so far.

I'll have to use an extension cord to get there, which I don't like, but will live with. I'm not sure where the Battery Tender will sit when it's hooked up. I guess under the hood?

Is it possible to charge a dead 3 year old battery and get more years of use out of it? Am I wasting my time?

With some of the new maintainers that are on the market, you might breathe some life back into it! Certainly worth a try, since you'll be investing in maintainers. The NOCO have a force mode if stone cold dead. Others you may need to have another battery with some life to get it going.

Im using Noco genius 1 chargers now, have 4, plus a noco genius 10 for charging larger batteries. Even though there only 1 amp, they can maintain the charge of my 700 cca batteries. Mind you, they cant bring back a depleated battery, but thats what the 10 amp unit is for. 1 amp is plenty to offset the draw down of the car and trailer batteries see from sitting for long periods.

Does the tractor sit for long periods of time unused? Long, as in a month or more? The earlier statement about electronics that remain on with a small power drain is very real. I have had trouble with cars left for months. Completely disconnecting the battery, or using a battery tender is the only solution I've been able to come up with. Just keep in mind that whatever background electronics draw might be present, that will essentially get deducted from the charger's output. So if you have a 1A tender and your electronics background load is 0.75A, then are only putting 0.25A into the battery and that's probably not enough. I'd lean towards a smallish automatic battery charger - one that does bulk and float charging. Or just install a disconnect switch.

Yes, there are months where it just sits. The last time I mowed was probably in late August. I got most of the place mowed, except for the dam on my pond. I've been wanting to finish it off so I could take off the batwing and switch over to dirt work. But I've been focused on finishing off my fence and haven't gotten around to it.

I tried starting it yesterday and there was nothing. Not a single light lit up on the dash. It was totally dead. I tried my small battery charger with a 50 amp boost, but all it did was turn on the dash lights and the started made clicking noise. I did the same with jumpers from my truck and let my truck run for half an hour. Same results.

I'm sure the battery is gone. I'm just not sure if there is enough left to jump it if I charge it, or if that's a waste of time. It's tax season and I'd rather pay taxes then buy a $250 battery. But I'm just putting it off, I'll buy a new battery anyway, it's just a matter of now or in the New Year.
