Battery Chargers

/ Battery Chargers #41
So far, I havent got the nack of forcing my noco 10 to charge a dead battery. When connected, it would not charge my JD that had a total dead batt but I figued with its age the batt was shot so bought a new one, my God! that was expensive! Batt have gone nuts price wise.. It has worked, the 1st time just two days ago charging my old ranger truck that had a very low batt charge. When plugged in and connected the far left light came on then worked up to the bright green light on the right. I left it for two days and the batt charged up fine. Next, I want to try it on my Farmall Super A with the six volt system.
I've got a half dozen differfent smart chargers. Like you say, I also noticed that some of the inexpensive smart chargers will not even try to charge a battery that is completely discharged.

What I do with those is hook up an old style charger to that battery for 30 minutes. That will put enough charge in the dead battery so that the smart charger will take it from there & sometimes recover the battery if there is any good left in it at all.

put the unit in the battery mode you need. hold the mode button down till the lights starts flashing everywhere. this is force mode and will last 5 or 10 minutes, at that point there should be enough voltage in the battery for the noco to work normally
