I'm wondering would it serve any purpose to fill tires when the cab weights 800 lbs? Or is the tire ballast nessary for low center of gravity? Insurance against tipover on a slope? I really didn't want to add the extra weight if not nessesary. I transport it sevral times a week and the weight is nearing max for my 10K gross trailer, I think with tractor, loader, Gannon box blade I'm approching 7K+? The water will add another 600lbs. I'm talking about a 4340C.

All tractors with loaders should have rear tires loaded. Not every one does it but it you want to get the most life out of your driveline and tires your should fill you rear tires. Not to mention it is much safer.
Happy tractoring

I never had a cab model before, I do alot of loader stuff and I always have the 1000 lb box blade on. My NH tc40da had solution in it, manual said at added 600lbs but didnot say if that was per tire or 300 per tire, the tires on my new 4340 are the same size. 600 lbs per tire would be about 85 gal. I don't think the tires would hold that much 3/4 full. Is the safty factor in the rear wheels going airborne or a tipover on a slope or both? What I'm thinking is I can react fast to a rear wheel lift quick, but if it increases my chances of tipover I won't even risk it. I work around new home construction and get in trouble sometimes on house pads with 45Deg. X 4-5' dropoffs. I'm most concerned in that situation if ballast would be safer.
