Replaced my toplink today with one longer for the impliment Im using..and removing the top link pin ( at the tractor) is a PITA the size of a baseball field...

The lift arms are SO CLOSE they have to be fully rasied to get the SPECIAL SHORT top link pin OUT ( or back in ) and to top it all off..my "bracket" has a slight burr on the right side hole..on the inside edge..so that the pin slide thru the left hand side of the bracket..thru the rod end of the top link and then ya have to ..??..beat...pound..?..something..to get it all the way thru

I dont really want to have to remove the bracket from the tractor because Id have to re-install it and make sure it was torque PROPERLY...( ??) to make it right...so Im going to TRY and get into it with a mandrel mounted grinding wheel ( ???) and not only remove any burrs but also "polish" the ID's of the holes in the bracket and if I CAN...Im going to grind a chamfer on those hoes on both inside edges

What a PITA!!

Sounds like a good excuse to justify a newer, bigger tractor. :)

That's right, I'd load it right up and take it on down to the dealership ASAP and trade it in on a new Grand L model so you'd have more room to replace that toplink pin! :D

Might as well tade DOWN for a little BX tractor...since either one I couldnt use!...lol

I bought the largest that will fit thru the woods here ( and some places I still have to go around) with the most HP I could get.

I have a Grand L and the top link pin is tough on those too. It is also a two diameter step pin.

Also, the dipstick for the hydro fluid is mounted right next to the top link bracket. Kinda dumb to do that.

Well..I finally sat down and took a long look at the setup and tomorrow if it doesnt go to raining...Im going to pull the top link brackets off that critter and polish the link pin holes and chamfer the edges of the holes in the brackets to stop them ever getting burred up again. What a PITA

And the place where you fill the UDT..etc..to refill the tranny and such. Its in a "nice place"! Someone suffered from a BAD case of "recto cranial inversion" when they came up with that one!

I will trade you my B2910 for your B3030. The top link bracket has been used enough that putting pin in is not a chore. Must be some differences in these 2 tractors. I have to lower lower arms all the way down before installing an attachment to get top link pin in and out. Always install top link before installing an attachment when I remember. ;)

On mine when the lift arms are down, the pin wont even come close to getting out of the bracket. I can pull the clevis pin ( I think thats what its called?) and the top link pin will put BACK until the end is about even with the side of the bracket....not enough even to get a top link free even.

I thought that bracket was a single piece but I see now its TWO "L" shaped pieces so I'll have to wait for the rain to stop and Im pulling the one side off and polishing the ID of the hole and going to chamfer the "inside edge" of that hole to keep it from ever burring up again.
