After thinking about this situation, I remembered that I cranked the seat spring up to near the max, because I kept bottoming out when mowing my field. So, the seat may well be sitting higher than "expected"

So I did a cheat that I have done on a few unrelated applications - add a coin (a nickel always in my case), taped over the plunger/sensor/what-have-you. It takes up the slack without having to do anything more complicated.

Yes, I taped a nickel to the bottom of my seat where the sensor plunger hits it. Did a cleanup tonight and not a single cut-out. Then again, I never had one for 5 years prior, FWIW.

Often overlooked is the ignition switch and your problem sounds like a safety switch or ignition switch
