Mr. Fuller the 1st of Feb. will be retired for 23rd. year.
Still active and busy. Rebuilding a 5400 Kubota small but think will be good garden type tractor .to pull trailer in and out of garden.
Have quit driving a cattle truck hauling Holstein bulls and cows to where ever the on line buyer lives. been interesting type of driving. typical don't know where going and wondering how anyone would build where they did.

The interstate type driving begin to worry me as seemed the smaller the cars the shorter the temper of the drivers was. and cattle didn't like braking and lane shifting trying to keep from hitting the yokels.

So far were having a good winter gets close to freezing and threat of snow none this year.
planning on traveling the surrounding states looking at the attractions this summer. the long distance may be over.
Thanks for the answer back and take care of your self. and family

I just found your thread and read through every post. I'm a home builder so I like seeing progress and I looked at every picture. I have to say, what you have done is inspirational.

Since taking over my families farm in Mississippi, I have taken inventory of all the building materials my grandfather has accumulated over his lifetime and I plan to build a cabin using his collection in the place of an old tenant house that has been uninhabited and decaying for 50+ years.

Congrats on an awesome build, I will continue to follow your thread for updates!

Thanks for the kind words. It was (is) a labor of love and I enjoy every minute that I'm here. I just arrived for a week of odd jobs. Getting here was like riding Mr. Toads Wild Ride with 2 feet of snow on top of already muddy roads. A little touch and go but fun also.

My zipline tower is morphing into a clubhouse, lookout tower, and all-around fun house. I'm installing toe holds on this plywood wall for a climbing wall.

There is a sizeable fire just SE of Prescott (about 25,000 acres). That is about 100 miles SE of me, and not expected to get much bigger, but I'm doing a little more tree trimming and brush clearing this weekend anyway.

I added an additional zipline. Beside the big one (325 feet), I ran a 60 foot line off to the side. It is between the ladders and is for the younger kids that are a little afraid of the big one.

I didn't even have half of the "holds" installed and the boys were already scrambling up the wall.

Wow, its been about 8 months. Time has gotten away from me lately. There is just too much to do in retirement. I've never been so busy!

After15 years, I finally upgraded my Tacoma and got a new Tundra. Way more power, hauling capability. This is what I needed while doing all my building. Oh well.

I should be starting on my front porch in a few weeks.

I was just thinking of this thread yesterday and where you have been.

Wow! I just read this whole thread in one sitting. What a beautiful cabin and it was all DIY. I love it.
I am curious how the water and solar systems are doing after being in operation for a while. How much water are you able to collect from a rainstorm?
I am planning on a large solar installation at our farm, but it will be grid-interactive with a small battery bank. I am thinking just enough battery power to keep refrigerators, CPAP, etc going over night.

It’s been almost 3 years since we moved in (June 2015) and the solar is doing great. A half dozen times a year (usually all in January) the backup generator kicks in, due to heavy snow days or heavy clouds, but other than that, we have all the power we need.

I have a 1100 gal tank collecting rainwater on one side of the house and a 2500 gal tank on the other. A storm we had a couple weeks ago filled them both. I need more storage. I would like to get 10K of storage so I could use it to water the trees and garden during the early summer. Right now I’m dipping into the house water, that I haul from a well 2 1/2 miles away.
What I really need to do is rig up a system where I could filter the rain water and pump it into the house water storage tanks (three 2500 gal tanks).
Also, next week I intend to dig up the end of the gray water line that is about 50 ft from the house, and rig up something so that the gray water can be diverted to the fruit trees that are down the bank. For the last 2 1/2 years I have just been letting it run into the septic tank. It would be better for the trees and for the septic if I get that done. I should have done it last summer.

She was diagnosed with colon cancer right after Valentines. Treatment has been brutal, but also successful. The cancer is dying and coming out. I mentioned it in my thread asking how to get rid of horses, since we have five and she isn't able to take care of them, and I do not like horses.
