I am thinking about adapting a truck snow plow to my 186D. It seems like most front blades run back and attach to the transmission case. One choice would be to attach to the pin that holds the lower lift arms. Another idea is to hook up to the draw bar bracket. There also seem to be bolt holes in the bottom of the transmission case where a bracket could be attached. Any thoughts about which method would be best?
I found a 5' Curtis truck blade. Very nice, heavy duty plow but they want $800 for it. I also found a 7' Snowbear truck blade. Pretty light duty but they will sell it for $200. It does have a neat little electric chain winch for lifting the plow. I thought I could cut it down to '5 and it might be ok. Do those Snowbear plows actually survive plowing snow with a truck?
