As some of you know, we have contemplated buying an ATV/UTV not seriously for a while now. UTV wise, I'm pretty much set on a Ranger XP/HD, Diesel 4x4 Gator (HPX or XUV), and recently a Yamaha Rhino, since the majority of our work will be towing.

But, I kinda slid into ATVs. I saw a few of the diesel Arctic Cat ATVs on eBay. Anybody have/use one that could share experience with me? Also, in my research, has anyone used the Speedpoint Arctic Cat attachment system?

I figured with a used one of these, and a golf cart (which we love) with a bed, all of our work could be done, and buying used both ways will break us about even with a near new 4x4 UTV, and we get two machines.

Farmboy12, go to www.atvnation.com, to the section on Arctic Cat, they had a write up there a while ago on the diesel, the owner seemed to like it. I have a gas and it runs great, haven't even seen a diesel in these parts.

Thanks for that link! It's great. I got some good info and experience sharing from them. Still looking for more if anyone has it. Also, is 571mi alot on an ATV?

I Have a Cat, its a Gas not Diesel, i have the 650 V Twin, 2006.

I likethe machine alot.

I also have a 400cc Bombardier Outlander Max (Wife's).

while the Bombi is a better quality machine and better technology, $ for $ the Cat was a better buy for me. At over $3000 less than the 650 Bombi it was a no brainer

Ground clearance is outstanding on the Cat and the speedrack system i really like, but Bin storage isnt as good as the Bomb.

Cat's better than Bombi:

Ground Clearance
Price
Simplicity in design & Construction
Rack attachments

Bombi better than Cat:

Comfort
Traction system
fit and finish
Bin Storage
More aggressive tire tread

i can't speak for other ATV's but as far as Honda goes, 571 miles youd be coming up on only your second service interval. the initial is 100 miles and then every 600 after that. so no that's not alot of miles.

That don't seem like many miles between oil changes to me.
Why so often?

ATVs are almost always used under "severe" conditions--extreme heat, cold, wet, dusty, low speed, high rpms, etc...so the OCI is not too long. 600 miles should equate to roughly 50 hrs of use on a typical utility atv.
