Anybody own a Guardline Driveway Sensor?

I would not want a motion detector sensor. Too many false alarms.

I looked for the light beam type to put at the gate, but never got one.

This type would be my second choice: Wireless Driveway Alarm by Mighty Mule - FM231

For now we are using our dog and his super sensitive hearing. :)

Im using this one @300 feet and so far so good 2+ years. Occasionally it misses cars driving in to fast. It also tends to pick up school busses and tanker trucks driving past my driveway as false positives. At $80 on sale it was the cheapest thing I could find. Id buy one again.

I just ordered one, so hope it will transmit the 1/2 mile rated distance

If it doesn't it will be easy to move it closer until it works

Please let us know what you think of it. I'm holding off on buying it until I read what you have to say.

It is at the post office now, should be delivered tomorrow.

I will post how it works.

We have had 2 for a couple years now. I have 2 driveways and 2 different alerts, so we know which driveway the action is at. They work good, batteries last about a year. 1 sensor is about 75 ft from base and the other is 100 to 125 ft from base. Like any sensor dogs, cats, fox, deer, people and autos set them off. You could aim them higher to eliminate small animals if it was a big problem. They have a lifetime warranty but if one failed and for whatever reason it wasn't warranteed I would purchase them again.

I got one of these 5 years ago and it works fantastic. Simple to install and picks up every vehicle passing by. The batteries seem to go on forever in the sensor too.

we use the mighty mule that has the sensor laying next to road. line of sight to the sensor in a shed is all of 500 ft. We input to an insteon input device.
I/O Module — Insteon Had to take the mighty mule receiver apart and use the wires coming off the speaker for the output. We then have modules that turn the driveway lights on at night when someone drives in and sounds an alarm. Then have alarms in different parts of the house. We then have modules in the house. Believe there is newer technology out there for light control, system has been in long time. When we change batteries in the smoke detectors change the mighty mule sensor batteries, that is all I have done in say 10 years. When the kid drives fast past it, it misses him but that is about it. The drive in about 11' wide where the sensor is. I have played with it in wider parts and it does not work as well, so IMO 11' is as wide as you want to go.
