Made the last payment on "Fergie" 6 weeks ago. While I did not expect a marching band and fireworks, I find it curious that I did not receive a letter thanking me for being a good customer, and asking for my future business. At the very least, you would expect a notification that it was over. So far, nothing?

You're right. Little details like that are big details to the customer.
After delivery the salesman should call a week or so later to see if you are happy and ask if you need something else. Last payment is another chance for someone to make contact.
It's a bit of a lost art (and sales) these days.

I made my final payment earlier in the year. It probably took them a couple months, but I did receive a letter.

That is what I was getting ready to say. They usually do but they give it enough time to be sure everything is taken care of.

I recently paid my tractor off that was financed through AGCO Finance. Within the month I received a letter acknowledging that the account had been paid in full and expressing appreciation for my business. I thought that was enough...

I got a Thank You letter and a "Satisfaction Survey" AND a genuine M-F cap!!

I got 2 caps, a tractor, AND a rain guage for about the same money. Not a nice MF cap though. It had the dealer's name on it.

My dealer has a great service department, with the 2 best mechanics in the county. But the personality of sales and management leaves a lot to be desired. He probably doesn't remember I bought a tractor from him, much less care if I pay off Agco.

I bet the dealer does care if you pay Agco. They get a monthly report if you pay or not.

Guys, is it normal for tractor/finance companies to send out a "Thank You?"

I'm just wondering because the only things I've every gotten when I purchased a large item was a payment book and a lien release, when all payments were done.

I did purchase a tractor and it's now been one month. I haven't heard a thing from the manufacturer. I did get a hat and a t-shirt from Wallace tractor though.

According to Gilford, Jerry and glenn it is normal for AGCO to send "Thank You".

Today, I would think any Company that wants to stay in business, should have a plan to convince their customers they are there for them. (Even if its not true).
Its called marketing.

I hope Agco cares. Because I don't think my local dealer really cares. Part of it, I think, is he lost his best salesman, the one who sold to me,and his parts manager within 6 months of each other. I know the MF tractors have gone from front row to side yard in 2 years. I know several people who've bought 1500s and 500s out of town. And one who will if he ever buys another one.

Well, the long awaited, (4 months), letter from AGCO has arrived.
I said I was not expecting a marching band, and I did not get one.

"Dear Customer:

Your above account with Agco Finance has been paid in full. Your paid
contract is enclosed.

Agco finance appreciated the opportunity to serve as you financing
solution. We sincerely hope you found our service responsive and courteous.

I guess that covers it. Better late than never.
