guys,
first off, happy new year! secondly, i want to add a toothbar to the fel on my bx.
i've checked out markham and w.r. long. i was intrigued by the ez landscaper add on bar. with additional teeth on the 48" bucket, my landscaping efforts would be greatly aided.
are there any other landscape bars that are available at a more reasonable price? $500.00 is out of the question.
i haven't had a chance to ask my kubota dealer yet. will any of the mfgs add teeth to their existing tooth bars as a custom order?
i did however like the idea of being able to drag the backward. thanks rs

There are a few people on Ebay making custom tooth bars for under $300. Shipping might get you though.

if such a person is out there, they can contact me thru tbn. thanks a million.

Shrekbelly,

Sorry if you've already considered this, but thought I should put in a couple of cents worth. I would be reluctant to spend extra money for a flat front edge. I have the Markham toothbar. The teeth do extend below the front bucket edge but I use the heel of the bucket to back drag and get good results. The trick is setting the right angle on the bucket. Hope it's helpfull.

My W. R. Long Flat toothbar should be in this week for my LA243 FEL 48" bucket on my BX2660. Ordered it through the Kubota Dealer because Long deals only with thier dealer network. shipping to dealer, 6% State sales tax totals $330

I have a WR Long flat toothbar that I can back drag without using the heel. I spent about $330 from the dealer. I may have been able to get it cheaper from them direct, but with shipping etc. It worked out well. I love it.

My WR Long should be here this weekend. Dealer quoted me $300 delivered to my house. This was before they realized the WR prices went up. They still honored the $300 quote.

Good Morning,

I hope I'm not hi-jacking your thread, but I'm also looking for either a tooth bar or a bolt/weld -on cutting edge for my BX24. Removing snow from the paved driveway and road is already taking its toll on my FEL cutting edge. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Matt.

There are pictures of, and links to some popular tooth bars here. However, Matt did you plan to leave a toothbar on while removing snow in order, to save your FEL cutting edge? I'm not sure snow removal would leave a clean result a TB (even if it was of the flat bottomed design).

And to answer a question from the original poster, yes, some manufacturers will add extra teeth. Markham is one such, but I suspect others will also.
