Just splice in extra length of wire. There may be a limit however, since the wire gauge is very thin in these cables. I sure at some point, there will be voltage or signal drop issues.

I bought this system. New 7" TFT Monitor Waterproof Car Rear View Night Vision Backup 2 Camera System | eBay
I really need a longer 8 pin cable to go from the monitor to the power source. I can't find anything appropriate. Anyone else out there have a source? I think the cable is 8 pin mini din but that a guess.

I have the same system. Couldn't you just add wire to the opposite side of the power? I added a 1 amp fuse to the red wire, and just taped the end of the green wire, since I'm not using it as a backup camera. Then I just found a place for the ground wire.

The problem is getting the power block out of sight. I'm installing on a pretty strange thing, there isn't any room in the cab or front of me. The monitor has got to be on the FOPS in front up high and the power connector has no place to go. kuormaajat-avant-1181395_b_a084fc24d210916a.jpg
All the power comes from the other side of the steering wheel. I'd like to make all the connections under the panel and run a single wire to the screen.

Have you tried contacting the seller through eBay to see if they can help? Just a thought.

Now I understand. Maybe try a locally owned Radio Shack. Or search online.

I think you should just look for some cable with the necessary number of conductors of appropriate gauge (most likely 22-24). Either splice into the existing harness, or look for the connectors on Digikey/Mouser/MCM and make an extension. From what I have seen of the connectors used in these cheap cameras and screens, they may not be typical stock items, so splicing into the existing harness might be the best bet.

Belden makes a wide assortment of multiconductor wire looms. Find a wholesale electric supplier and you'll find what you need.

Here is a pic of the rear camera late in the evening, the cam is in the cab looking through the glass and gets a bit of glare when sun is shining just right into the camera. But over all think it's going to work out good. Will see how the front cam works with bucket and forks next day or so.

I definitely need the camera on the loader. Picking up something at ground-level with the forks, or even attaching most quick-attach attachments, is a pain in the ***.

Done some blade work on the driveway today and really liked the cam. I could see the full width of the blade just looking at the screen where I would have to lean back a bit if I turned around to look.

I have to say that I am still disappointed with my system. The screen is just too small for working. I have a 7" monitor. And, I'm in a cab, but the sunlight is still too much for me to see enough detail.

I've put about 40 hours on my tractor in the past week, about half of that with the tiller and the other half with my blade doing some laser leveling. I find myself looking at my mirrors a lot more than looking at my monitor. Oh well....

I also know some guys that install them simply to align themselves to hook up travel trailers. Reduces that chore to a simple one man operation.

There are 9'' monitors.

Well....I raised the front end loader too high and pulled the wires out of the back of my front camera. I haven't had time too look at it to see if I can put the wires back in, or if I'll need to order another camera.

I used the front camera yesterday with the bucket to level a couple of spots in the yard where I removed two stumps and filled the holes last winter. Really worked nice to watch just how much I was scrapping off the top.

Today, the monitor went dead. I think it happened when I started using the third function for my grapple. I bet the fuse blew, and I haven't had time to check it.

Thanks for the update, CB. Sounds like your setup is working well. I've had my second camera for awhile. 'll likely use your approach when I finally get a round tuit. In the meantime, procrastination is being rewarded as more reports come in. :)
