8N MOTOR QUESTION

Greeting all. I have a friendwith a Ford 8n - she let it overheat and it pulled a sleeve loose from the block. It was knocking, and I thougt it was a bearing, but it was a sleeve moving up and down about 1/8". Is there any way to reattach it without doing a major teardown? Thanks in advance. finances are the issue.
