84” ssqa snow blade on 72” wide tractor

Would a 84” ssqa snow blade turned 30 degrees be as wide or wider than a tractor that has a 72” wide tire track?

I run a 7' ssqa plow on my 72" wide tractor. I rarely angle it at 30 degrees because wet snow starts to push the front end around, and it rolls snow fine at a much less angle.
I recently added side plates on the plow, so this season I don't angle it at all except around turns and to square up to a pile.

This is my 96" HD Rhino rear blade. I offset and angle when blading snow. Offset because there are a couple drop-offs on my driveway. Offset keeps the tractor a little further away from the very edge. When angled my blade will cut a 76" to 78" swath for light, fluffy snow. Less for wet, heavy snow when I have to angle more.

I suspect You will be running over snow when angled since some snow seems to always roll back from the windrow.

A smaller capacity, but yes. I have since added UHMW Polyethylene closing the gaps on the side plates. I plan to remove the side plates for larger snows, as I have several very long drives I plow. 6 bolts and they're off.
On edit, I should add that I fabbed this up based on the work of a TBN user that did a similar modification.

I have a 7'-6" plow on a 6'-6" wide tractor. Same 1 foot difference you have. I run it fully angled all the time. Like dstig1 says - it's close but it works fine for me.

Adding to the above - if I put an 8 footer on there it would give me less than 3" more on each side when angled. I don't think that is enough to make any difference at all.

Thanks for this info. I have a line on a 7’ for a good price, but have been debating about going with 8’. For only 3 “ more per side the 7’ seems like the way to go for the price.

Going from a 7' to an 8' would give you 6" more on each side. That would be a noticeable difference that. But the 8' would also be harder to steer and push your front end around more. Everything is a trade-off.
