My buddy just got a jd package deal locally. The guy worked at a local steel and fab shop. He copied other heavy implements and fabricated his own. If you have the ability you can save a ton. I’m still in good standing with the laser shop I worked at years ago. The laser manager works remote now and will design/cut anything. We used to cut a lot of AR plate and various armor materials for gunner shields, doors , and window frame armor.

IMO, plasma cutters are revolutionary in making it feasible to make fairly complex cuts to build anything like your grapple. With your obvious design and fabrication skills, it will be interesting to see what else you decide to build.
