5425 Tractor

I have a 5425 tractor/542 loader and I went out to cut hay yesterday and was shifting threw the gears and hit a small pothole (barely noticeable) and the tractor seemed to pop out of gear , it slowed down and stopped but when I went from forward to reverse the tractor won't move....really weird , checked the switch on the seat and ohm's out fine ....stumpted any ideas???

Haven't had the loader off...

Do you have left hand reverser? If so, then I would suspect an electrical problem. Are any warning lights on? Check all your fuses and relays. A bump could have knocked one loose possibly.

Seat switch ?
Power Reverser Fuse.

Seat switch is good , all fuses test fine....has the electronic clutch...think either the ecu is bad or clutch is out

I'm assuming it has PowerReverser ?

Make sure all 4 elc connections are securely connected on left side of trans under your left foot sitting in seat.

My 5093E did this too.

how about the range and the gear levers are they both in gear?

Mine only has 3 ...all good

Had john Deere out and pressure tested the clutch , clutch is bad , have the tractor almost split , parts here sat....

The clutch isn't actually electrical, it is electrically activated by a solenoid that directs oil pressure to engage the multiple disc wet clutch.

Yes , should have explained further , it has a froward solenoid and a reverse solenoid actuated by a rehostat on the clutch pedal instead of the traditional cable setup....more stuff to go wrong....JD says when you lose both for/rev usually means the clutch is out. Mine all the springs were in the bottom case. Took about 9 hrs to repair including removing/installing loader.
