54" blades ?

Which blades will help throw the grass clippings out from under the deck the best ? On my old 38" deck the high lift blades worked the best. Is there high lift blades for the JD 54" deck ?

I have a JD 727 Z-turn with a 54" deck and there are hi-lift blades available for it. If you go to the Oregon website there is a large file that shows what blades are available for what mower, it is too large for me post here. Use the link labeled "Blades- Look up by Manufacturer"

The Z-Trak mowers usually take a different blade than the MMM do for some stupid reason. To the best of my knowledge, there are no high lifts for the 54" deck like the ones under the GX series like there were for your old 38" deck. The ones that come under your 54" are basically medium lift blades, but they work pretty well IME. I don't know if you're old school or not, but many old school guys don't run their machine at WOT. You should for several reasons, including cooling, efficiency of the implements that go with the machine etc.

I run mine at full throttle. The blade that came on the mower do work really good and throw the clippings really well. I have the high lift on my older JD 175 and on that mower they made a big difference.

I had a LT133 that came with what JD called medium lifts, but they were a lot higher than most high lifts. The high lifts for it were ridiculously high.
