5234D Tranny

beware of 2005 cub cadet 5234D the tranny went on my tractor, some pin in the transmition broke and metal went all through trans. took it to a cub dealer they told me I would need a new trans. and pump they called cub canada oh its out of warranty by 30 days only 160hrs on tractor they finally agree to replace but I would have to pay labour?? 12hr labour. tractor has been in the shop 2 months new trany came in but did not fit my tractor ordered another unit called back 2 weeks latter now they tell me they do not make a tranny that will fit my tractor,dealer is still talking to cub cadet canada!! a 2 year old machine and you can't get parts??? how does this company expect to stay in business? I should have bought a deer or kubota
I hope they have the decency to replace the tractor to save there company name. ( anyone have any suggestions

sounds like a bigger problem with the dealer than the tractor. keep us posted.

There is a know problem with the 2004 and 2005 transmissions in the 5000 series. I should know. I went through 2 transmissions and a host of other problems with these tractors. I was told by cub that these problematic trannys were out of the system sometime during the 2005 model year.
