John Deere 5205
So after being left to wait by one stealership for several weeks, I finally get my Power Beyond kit so I can hook up my 48 backhoe to the machine. Install is going well until I hit the page where it talks about hooking up the hoses with a mid mount hydraulic valve. So silly me, after exhausting several hydraulic supply shops for the 4 fittings, that ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE KIT, I hit a shop that almost immediately asks me "Do you own a Deere?" And then proceeds to tell me that the fitting I need is half US half metric. So off to a new Deere dealership to order the part using the part number, 38H1046 if you are keeping score, in the directions. It arrives the next day and don't work either, it's US O-ring US face seal. So waiting on them to get back to me on WTF I'm sposed to do.....

Any thoughts ??

Jim

Need more info.
First what type of fitting, as in straight, 45, 90.
Second type and size of each side. Male or female threads, English or Metric.
I will ASSUME the threads into the mid valve are the 1/2 that are metric, and male threads with an o-ring on the threads. Is there a plug in the mid valve you can remove to determine the thread size (diameter)?
I will also ASSUME the 1/2 that the hose goes on is US (English) and that the hose has a female swivel fitting for ORFS (o ring face seal). Can you measure the size of the hose end? Even the wrench size that fits would help. If you have part number for the o-ring that would help too.
I will guess the internal threads measure about 3/4" (actual is 13/16", but you are not able to measure o.d. of female threads) and the wrench size is 15/16"

The mid valve will most likely have M18 or M22 threads.

It seems to me if the fittings are shown in the kit, as pictured in Tx Jim's post, the seller should provide them if they were missing. Did you buy this kit from a JD dealer?
When you said hookup to the mid valve, I was thinking a MID mount loader valve. Did you mean the valve key #8 in Tx Jim's post?

Zebrafive
I was thinking mid joy stick valve was implied also.

Those pictures don't show what I'm dealing with.....
I have a midmount valve manifold for the loader, the kit instructions tell me to use part 38H1046 which I think is supposed to be a male M-14 O-ring 45' elbow to 1/2" face seal o-ring male. This then mates to a Tee that has 2 male face seal o-ring males and a female.

The pipe plugs that live in the power beyond end cap are called out as M14, hence my assumption.

The 3 straight nipples in the kit are correct, metric o-ring on one side and US face seal on the other.

Bought the Powerbeyond kit from a Deere stealership that jerked me around for about a month, we can order it one of 2 ways, one will cost extra.....ordered the cheap way and they claimed they couldn't get a promise date for the kit. Finally dropped the extra and had it in 2 days......@$$#)&^$.....

Have changed Deere dealers and they're trying to help...or at least claim to be trying......

My next step if no joy Mon AM is have a short hose made.....close face seal 90 to either male face seal or female face seal with a nipple..............really need my hoe to work......

First 38H1046 is a 45* fitting, both ends male, one end is #8 (1/2") ORFS (o ring face seal),(it will have a groove cut in the face for the o-ring) thread size is 13/16"-16 (16 threads per inch) the other end is #8 (1/2") SAE straight thread ORB (o ring boss) thread size 3/4"-16 (16 threads per inch), there will be a nut and an o-ring over the threads. So this fitting is ALL English or US, NOT metric.

Strange your kit does not match what Tx Jim posted. Do you have a part number or bundle/whole goods number for the kit? I am assuming two different ways and prices to get the kit were have Parts order every individual part (the expensive way) or have Sales order a Bundle or Whole Goods ( the less expensive way) since there is no cheap way for John Deere.

You say "Finally dropped the extra and had it in two days" Did the dealer drop the extra $$$ or you?

I am betting you were sold the wrong kit. Just a WILD guess I think you got a power beyond kit a JD 5200 Bundle or Whole Goods number LVB25367

I have a midmount valve manifold for the loader,

Would it be possible to post photo's of what you are dealing with?????? Is this the manifold in question??

No the dealer dropped the extra $$ on me......

The block in the previous post is the one that is giving me the trouble.

Current dealer told me they have found the correct double male elbow, and should have it tues or weds...

When you get the correct elbow ""please"" post the part # so I can determine where it's hide in the parts catalog.

/ 5205 Power Beyond install issue #12
My guess is if it's a 45* part number 38H5071 or if a 90* 38H5017
