Hello, I was going to start spraying today and I had the tractor stopped and gear lever in park, range lever in neutral and direction lever in neutral as well, with the PTO running I get up out of the seat and before I could get out an alarm goes off, I quickly sit back down so the tractor won't quit on me.

Firstly is it possible to run the PTO without being in the seat?

Secondly if so then what am I doing wrong?

Thirdly I see there is a spot on the tractor where an external button could be installed to run the PTO when outside the tractor but I can't find any info on if an outside switch can be installed, if it can be does anyone know what part numbers they would be?

Thank you.

I don't think it will quit but the buzzer will sound the whole time you are out of the seat.

I think the spot is for a second set of buttons for your 3pt hitch.
JD has a kit for a fender PTO switches for 6x30 series tractors. It's AL180494. I think it has switches for both fenders and a rocker switch to switch from operator station PTO switch to fender PTO switches. Also you have to have tractor computer reprogramed,

I will have to give that a try next time, normal reaction for me it to plant my butt in the seat when I hear the buzzer thinking it would quit.

I have one spot that has 3 point controls and there is two spots that looks like a PTO control would attach to and another spot that looks like a right hand side hitch control would attach to.

I know on precious years there was a fender control for PTO and for three point and also for one of the rear SCV's (which would also be sweet for hooking up with a hydraulic top link. Here is a couple pics of those spots.

Yes you do have the spots on your fenders. I was only thinking of the spot for the 3pt behind the tail light. Sorry for the misinformation.
I know the kit for 6030 series required software programming. It may be to bypass the seat switch? :confused3:
Maybe an earlier version will work?

So technician came out and took a look and agreed it shouldn't be stalling out, it was some sort if programming issue. Hooked it up to his laptop and a bit later it was working properly, it now beeps at me a couple times letting me know I'm off the seat then keeps on running.
