That's for a "float" position. The valve should work normally if you don't push the lever into the float position. You should feel some resistance before it goes into the float position. To defeat it, just remove the ball and leave the spring. You paid extra for that "feature".

I have two remotes on my 4815C. One is spring to center and the second one doesn’t have a spring or detent. It stays in whatever position you move it to. Must manually move it back to neutral.
