On my 4820c, the rear remote #1 has a spring and ball detent system that holds the valve open until the lever is moved back to the center position.

Is there a kit or parts available to convert this to the spring back to center system that the valve number 2 has?

Yes, you can remove the detent. You just need to remove the little detent balls and small spring if I recall correctly. Just be careful as parts can fly everywhere as you pull it apart.

EDIT: Found the picture I was looking for. Someone made it and post elsewhere but it's helpful.

That does not work on my valve. There is no return to center spring in my detent set up, so when you remove the balls, the valve has nothing to re-center. I need the part(s) to replace the detent set up with the spring return setup so the valve returns to center..

Here is a couple pictures of my valve, and a picture of the part I need.

Yeah, yours is a different setup from what I shared in the other post.

I assume you contacted your deal to no avail? I imagine they would only offer the entire remote.

For what it's worth, having one detent and one return to center seems to be standard when you get 2 from most mfgs.

TA00048560A this is the part # from the branson side of things, this is what they called a detent kit that could be added to any of the 20 series branson models, if they haven't changed the rear remote setup for these models this kit should still work to give you a detent on the second valve stack that doesn't currently have one, while you wont have much luck googling this part, if you speak to a dealer they should be able to get you one when i still sold these they were around 80 bucks i think, if you can get a hold of one of these its a much faster oem solution, that being said if your not using the factory remotes i dont believe this will help you accomplish what your looking to do but i at least wanted to mention that it does in fact exist.

Thanks, my 4820 has a detent on one of the valves. What I would like to do is replace it with a return to center. That way both remote valves would be return to center.

Is there a part number to change from detent to return to center?

so you would only need to remove the detent kit for the other side then, when they originally built those valves( i forget which manufacture they used for them) they came to branson without detents at all, so they made these kits to install into them at the factory in Rome, Ga before they were assembled onto the tractors, i know this is the case because i have( when we still sold them) received 20 series units off the truck that had no detent and we had to get these kits from them and install them to give the remotes the detent feature they were supposed to come with form the factory. so i know they are possible to remove.

When I remove the detent kit, there is nothing to maintain the lever position. The lever essentially flops around. I'd like it to spring back to center.
