Well folks I've converted my neighbor from Deere to Mahindra. He went out and picked up a 4510 cab. Now he has a problem. He has a 3 pt scissor lift bale spear that he used with his old Deere. The 4510 won't lift a 1000# roll with the scissor lift. I'm talking about a 3 pt bale spear that is lifted with the 3 pt and then it scissors hydraulically to lift it higher so you can load or unload a trailer. His older tractor was a Deere 1530. Hydraulics are rated close to the same. 9.5 gpm on the Deere and 9.6 gpm on the 4510. I haven't gotten a chance to go inspect exactly what's going on, but am I right to suspect that the 4510 should have the uumph to lift a 1000# roll with the hydraulics?

Does this bale spear act as a 2 point lift off of the lower arms, or is it a true 3 point lift using the top link? It makes a difference. As far as lift capacity is concerned GPM only controls the speed of the lift not the lift capacity. How does the rated lift capacity on the 2 tractors compare. Also some of the manufacturers rate at the end of the arm and others are 24" behind the arm. Once the comparison has been done, I would have the dealer check the PSI at the remotes to make sure the 4510 is up to spec.
