Anyone use the fork lift attachments for the 430?

Also, anyone have a good design for homemade 3 pt. hitch ballast?

I have the JD forks for my 430 loader and have found them useful from time to time--recently in putting a pallet on the forks and raising it as far as it would go and standing on it to use a chainsaw to remove ice-caused broken limbs from many trees. Due to a lack of space when the forks are not mounted, I created three "wheeled trollies" and place one beneath the end of each fork and one beneath the back, turn the forks around and park the bucket on them. For ballast, I usually use a heavy (500#) Rhino rear blade, although sometimes I mount up a rear scoop and fill it with cement bags. Eventually I will create a concrete rear ballast the design for which I found at the following Web site:

Good luck, Mike S.

I am very happy with the usefullness of the forks on my 430 loader. Wish I had purchased them long ago. Also, they are very easy to get on and off using the quicktach system JD has for the loader attachments.
