2003 Kubota BX1500/2004 Kubota Bx23/2005 Kubota BX1500
BX 1500 4 way flashers won't flash or light up when switch is turned on.
Turn signal lights do work ok,so I don't think a burned out bulb is the problem .
I suspect the switch or the 4 way flasher.
What do you all think?
How do i go about checking it out?
Anyone got any other ideas?
Thanks,
LB.

Am I missing something, but shouldn't you just use a different tractor that has the working flashers installed?

Could the switch have gotten wet? I had that happen to my BX but it did the opposite, wouldn't shut off.

*I did too with my BX23 but this is the BX1500
that's parked inside.
It was not snowing or raining out side when I was using it yesterday.

swap the switches around it wont take long to find the problem.
If you have to buy a replacement dont go with the dealer way to high
i bought 3 from this place very cheap. The one your talking about is
a 3 pole i believe they should have it for just a few dollars.

First check the fuse. Second (assuming it is not the fuse) you need to figure out if it is the switch.. Just unplug the wires from the switch then short them together. If the lights work, the problem is your switch. Same thing with the flasher, short around it to see if the lights light.

If it is your switch, it is probably just dirty.. Pop it out, pop it open, see if anything is broken, clean the contacts, apply a little dielectric grease, put back together. I did this just a couple weeks ago.

Miker,

What did they charge you for the switches? I'm going to replace my headlight switch with a spdt to use either the head lights or the utility lights (not at the same time) to avoid needing to upgrade the alternator.

I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me where exactly you bought them..

I called McGill, they sent me to the local sales rep, they sent me to a local retailer, and they sent me out the door saying McGill would only deal in 200 part minimum order or I'd have to pay $35 in shipping and handling for a $12 part. :(

i keep everything but can never find anything if that makes sense.
here is another website that may help.(below) type in mcgill switch and
your part number (2 prong 0852-0281) and you can search.
i have my old switches 1 is still good the 3 prong of mine was
gone.tractor had sit outside for quite awhile.i dug out the credit
card statement. it was from (eio torrance ca) 2 switches and shipping
was 13.00 total. i believe i paid 20.00 or so for the 3 prong at
our kubota dealer.

Switches
this above is where i got them from. i used the 0852-0277 i believe
same rating. i went and checked the tractor i have the 0852-0277 for
the flashers and headlights they are 3 prong switch you only need 2 of
them. the turn signal switch is (085210-114) i got that from the dealer
top left turn bottom right turn i believe. the 0881-0017 may be the one
for that. at 2.50 piece a man isnt going to lose much. hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for all your tips.
It's a nice balmy nearly 50 degrees here today so I went out to the building and checked the 4 way flashers out.
Got it fixed in about 5 minutes.
One wire on the switch was loose.
