Kubota L4310 HST
Good Evening....new member here, thought I may find some help. My Kubota L4310 was running fine, when I came in to refuel and tried to restart I got nothing. The glow plugs and lights all work but it won't turn over. I just hear one audible click when turning the ignition to start. The battery tested good (it's fairly new), starter/selonoid and ignition all test good with my multimeter. So now I'm thinking it may be a starter relay. I also haven't checked the safety switches, I'm not really sure where to find them. Any help would be appreciated!

Remove, inspect, and clean all high current cables. That includes the ground strap to the frame, starter connections, and battery terminals. If that doesn't get you going, load test the battery regardless of its age.
You can also test the voltage getting to the starter solenoid upon activating the key. Low voltage may indicate resistance through the various safety switches or the key switch itself.

I’d first check to see if you bumped the PTO on by mistake, or some other control that prevents starting.

Is your tractor a hydrostat? If it is, any chance the forward/reverse drive pedal is not in a "neutral" position?

I had a L3010 that would do that intermittently. If I tool a Jumper cable from the battery + to the lug on the starter, it would crank. It turned out that the end of that long Positive battery cable was nearly corroded off. Replaced that cable and problem solved.

When the tractor clicks but won't start, my first step is to bring over a known good battery and jump directly to the tractor battery with good cables. Usually that will tell what the next step should be.

For years I ran old style wet cell batteries on equipment, and the next step was almost always loosening the battery terminal connectors & cleaning off corrosion. I've worn out a bunch of those special two-part wire brushes made for cleaning up battery terminals and cables.

Now that I've replaced those old old wet cell batteries with newer AGMs, that cable corrosion happens less often, and connections are not eaten away by acid fumes. But the cable to battery connection still needs to be clean and tight. On our tractors, switching to the AGM batteries was worth doing, but not a total fix .

If it’s anything like my L4400, there is a safety switch under floor board under your left foot. There is a rod that can get out of adjustment and not hit the “plunger” on the switch correctly. That rod has to depress the plunger button in order for it to start. A quick check, just wedge a little something between the rod and plunger and start it as normal.

What was the outcome? if you were at my house I would tell you the same about checking all battery connections and grounds. I hope you have found the issue. I know last summer I was working on my tractor and i had the battery disconnected but i needed to start it for a second but i still had to work on the battery box. So, I figured that just to temporarily start it i would hand twist the positive cable on tight to the battery. I can tell you with 100% certainty that the cable hand twisted down onto the battery as tight as I could get it, will not start that tractor. I was amazed the connection had to be "wrench tightened" to make it start. My advice,.. start with your connections.
