Has anyone installed the electric diverter in a 3720 cab? The local dealer wants $800 for the install. Seems like quite a lot but if it is a difficult job I'd let them do it. If it's a straight forward kit I might tackle it myself.

I believe the kit says to take of one tire but I think I can get to mine without that as I have 6" axle extensions (best purchase I made, really improved the stability of the tractor) so there is a fair bit of room between the wheel and tractor.

Thanks

Great Q, I'm thinking of doing the same...well, I'm thinking of getting the kit, no matter what I'll be doing it myself. Seriously the instructions Deere supplies with all its kits are top of the line.

As far as doing it without removing the tire, I wouldnt reccomend it but anything is possible but it would be WAY easier with the tire off. When I did my rear SCV I removed the tire and with it gone you can easily get to the valve body. I'd rather be sitting on my work stool then laying on a creeper.

Does anyone have the install instructions in PDF? I am also interested in this for my 3720 cab. Thanks.

Where did you get your axle extensions? How much were they? I would like to get some for my 4520. Thanks.

My problem is I don't have a shop or concrete pad to work on, for some reason SWMBO insisted on a house before a shop. It seems it would be easier if I could do it without pulling the tire. I can see where you'd have to pull the tire without the extension but the 6" spacer really opens it up. Once I get the kit I'll assess the situation, right now it looks like lots of room to work compared to some of the tight spots in some of the aircraft I've worked on.

By the way how is your power rake? I followed that closely as I want to build one, just can't seem to find the time. Today it looks like I should put the snow blower back on.

They were Unverferth extensions and were $434 CDN each, don't remember what the exchange rate was at the time. My local Deere dealer got them for me and installed them.

LOL, SMBO strikes again, I sorta know how you feel, we built a 1 car attached to the house so her car can park inside... but at least I can pull the car out to do some work in the garage. Working on plans for a "real shop/garage" now.

Good timing on the question, been workin on the final details. Just this past Sunday I officially finished all fab work, the last part was the rubber barrier so I painted everything up and some night this week after work I just need to bolt the barrier & gauge wheels on and then it will be time for its first true job. I'll make a post in the build it yourself section when I get pics of it all assembled.

Please post pictures.. I'm guessing that the kit uses a rocker switch on the fender panel to activate the added SCV's.

However, for those who are wondering about the diverter install - there is the further question of how the 3rd SCV function would be configured for use on the loader - grapple, etc.?

Good stuff...

That is correct

What do you mean? The diverter does not affect the 3rd SCV in any way. Nothing changes to the 3rd SCV.
