3054 4x4 lever not working

My son was using our 3054 and was trying to put it back in 2 wheel drive and something has gone wrong. The lever just flops up and down. I think something bad has happened inside. Any advice is greatly appreciated. It currently operates fine in 4x4 but has always been under tension when switching from 4 to 2 wheel. I believe the tractor in a 1993.

Check the linkage underneath, you may have only lost a pin or something.

Same thing happened with my lb1914. A small pin had fallen out of the linkage. Hopefully that is all it is

Pin is there, something is broken inside. Wont be able to get to it for a while. Hope it's ok to run it as is in 4x4. No strange noises anyway.

As long as you don't try to use it on a paved surface you should be OK (assuming whatever's broken doesn't jam in a gear or something). I rarely put mine in 2WD.
