A little confused with the specs on these 2 tractors that are so different yet the breakout force for loader is better on the smaller tractor. Why is that so?

Clearance, dumped bucket: 55.1 inches [139 cm]
Dump reach: 24.8 inches [62 cm]
Dump angle: 45
Reach at ground: 44.6 inches [113 cm]
Rollback at ground: 25
Rollback, raised: 64
Breakout force (at pin): 2257 lbs [1023 kg]
Breakout force (bucket): 1,661 lbs [753 kg]
Lift to full height (at pin): 882 lbs [400 kg]
Lift to full height (at 500mm): 618 lbs [280 kg]
Lift to 1.5m (at pin): 1,072 lbs [486 kg]
Lift to 1.5m (at 500mm): 781 lbs [354 kg]
Bucket width: 49.2 inches [124 cm]
Raise time to height: 2.5 s
Bucket dump time: 2.0 s
Lowering time: 1.8 s
Rollback time: 1.9 s

3038e
Loader:

Don't know about the break out force but I would have thought those two tractors could lift more than that at full height..

I was thinking the 4110 has more HP than that.

I was thinking the 4110 has more HP than that.

So I have few acres and thinking going compact rather than large. The smaller unit comes with a boat load of attachments including mower at $11k but no bushhog at 900hrs while the 3038 comes with FEL and BH only at $19k with only 55hrs.

Do you need a backhoe? IMO the 3038 with the backhoe isn't a bad deal..

Anyways definitely need a brush cutter and seems with the smaller 4110 i can only use 4' where as with the 3038 i can use a 6'.. These choices are so tough:mad:

I used a medium duty 5ft bush hog on a 45hp tractor, the 6ft would have been to much with the hydro.

Add in the price of fluids (Hyd, engine, coolant), filters, and belts. The 4110 is due for a valve adjustment too. Tire tread? Worn bucket edge?

Hogging a wide open space or going into woodlots or between/ around trees? Larger is better in the former, can be limiting in the later.
Have you got something specific that needs to be lifted? A pallet of something at a specific weight, a few snowmobiles, or just loose bucket loads of aggregate/sand/horse manure?

My personal experience with the JD FEL lift spec is it seem optimistic in real life application. Don't forget to subtract the weight of the bucket/forks from actual lifting capability. And then realize that anything you lift (other than a thin slab of steel stood on edge) is going to be extended out from the pin point. 500mm is less than 20 inches.

Personally, I find myself wishing for more FEL lift capability occasionally (not always). Moving soils et al just results in more trips. But there are things that can't be lifted, such as equipment/pallets being delivered, large rocks, snowmobiles unless you have bigger capability.

Good luck
