3020 SCV coupler conversion

So how much fun is it to remove the JD coupler cartridges and install the Pioneer type? This tractor has one 20 series coupler body and one 10 series body. Is the procedure pretty much the same for both types?

No, I guess you don't. I'm talking about the cartridges in the coupler bodies. There's a bit more to it than matching threads.

I'm not aware of a conversion for 10 series couplers or 20 series couplers on pre- side console tractors ( up to 1969).

There are ISO kits for both 10 & 20 rear breakaway couplers. This is the part number for kit for 20 series RE206778 Quick Coupler Kit - QUICK COUPLER KIT, RECEPTACLE KIT 146.70 USD. Kit part number for 10 series is the same plus some other extra parts. IMHO the spiral back up washers(parts key 20) are a PITA to install correctly.

IMHO all that's required for kit installation is mechanical ability & PATIENCE.

Okay, that sounds reasonable. I just didn't want to spend an hour on the road, only to find it requires a press, or some specialty gadget or two that's not available out there.

I think the kit can be field installed but it's been a long time since I was a service manager

Aren't there adapters you can install (just like a hose end) then an ISO hose end connects? At TSC maybe?

Often the change to ISO coupler barrels is driven by the reality that the original cone style couplers are worn out and leaking.
