3 pt Backhoe

/ 3 pt Backhoe #41
Good thread.... I had planed on adding some reinforcing bars to "connect" the 3pt long backhoe to my ford 340, but am considering the chain idea now instead. I don't think I will ever try to lift the rear end off the ground as that would transfer the weight to all the wrong places IMO. I do have a FEL that connects the front half of the tractor to the rear axle, which should help minimize any flexing. Trying to tie the 3pt BH to THAT subframe is proving challenging, however I still might try it if I feel any flexing after adding the chain to the drawbar.

Anybody have any links to more information about this lockout bracket for draft control?

Here is my top link connection, and draft control. Nobody in another thread was able to tell me if I should unhook the lower connection and allow it to "swing" upwards in order to use the draft control, so I am not really sure why it has that feature built in.

You can see at the bottom of the top link connection piece there is a pin. this pin is going through a piece that's a part of the rear of the tractor. I am thinking now that this might be a build in "lock out" feature for the draft control, and if I want to use the draft control I would need to remove that pin allowing the connection to swing upward and apply more/easier force to the draft control cylinder.

no. pin stays.. it's a hinge., effects draft sensing at the top of that 'lever'
