2410 bucket weak?

winchman, i like your idea the best so far, i think the pipe going the whole lenght of the bucket would give me better strenght.
and to your joke black, if i do post pictures i will make sure the hooks are the right ones and the welds look pretty, /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif i have read post were the guy got a little whooped on , but that is how we learn, by our mistakes.
that is what i like about this forum, usually get honest answers weather ya want to hear um or not.
but seriously, i have learned a lot from reading this forum and it has helped me. as i am a first time compact tractor owner. thanks to all for the insightful advice and especially the pictures.

The bucket on my L3710 was a material bucket and I broke it about 5 times at the corners where the cutting edge is welded to the sides. That was caused from mounting a bale spear. When using the bucket to dig, I mounted an ATI Toothbar. This bar has replaceable manganese teeth. When I ordered my L3050HSTC I got the Excavation bucket with the quick detach. I mounted the same bale spear and I notice that the bucket doesn't flex in the middle at all.

Here's an idea for a free or probably next-to-nothing cutting edge...Go to the nearest state garage or road commision garage and ask them if they have any old mouldboard edges or snow plow wear edges. They will almost without a doubt have a pile and go through them and find the width of your bucket. Take it home and cut and drill the bucket to fit the wearbar. Even the worn out bars from the road garage will be heavier than the ones from the tractor dealer, will outlast your tractor and are very cheap compared to the store bought counterparts. A new cutting edge for my 72" bucket on the 3050 costs $275.00. That is a lot of beer!!!!

I don't know if anyone is interested, but I still have the ATI in the barn. It's a 60" in excellent shape with mounting hardware. It would be easy to make smaller or larger for that matter. if interested, let me know.

All these pictures are of the material buckets. You guys need the round back excavation bucket, then you don't have to weld on 'em. I do like that set of bucket hooks, though. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
