It finally happened...I knew it would, it was only a matter of time.

It hit me loud and clear when first sat on my brand new baby Kioti, "Oh boy, a Turn Signal Lever, wonder how long that's gonna last?"

1.5 years later baby (25 hp, 50 hours) now matches his older brother (35 hp, 500 hrs) whose Turn Signal Lever fate was resolved long ago.

What's on your "Final Destination" bucket list?

Are you accepting the inevitable or trying to beat fate, and if so, how?

Mine is in an equally bad place. So far it's lasted 8 years and counting with many many bumps with my knee. It will be either that or the key, but it's coming for sure.

Turn signal switch (which I never use) is in a safe place on mine, but both the key and the switch for the flashers are both right where they're easy to bump with your knee. I did fab up a guard around the key which doesn't eliminate the problem, but definitely decreases the likelihood of kneeing it.

Mine's 25 YO this year, never used the turn signals and it is protected by the dash.

But I regularly hit the headlight switch getting on/off turning them on.

I broke my dk45 turn signal handle off the first year of ownership. But I can say I have NEVER used that switch in 14 years.

I’ve kneed the key off many times over the years though.

I have the opportunity to use my signals about 3 times a year.
Always on a gravel road with little traffic.
Every time I have to hunt for the switch.
After I find it, I need to stare at it to figure out how to use it.

So I don't use them because it takes my eyes off the road for to long.

And besides, it seams that a lot of traffic either doesn't see, care or believe them.

Sweet mod, you got me thinking about making a key shield - tks!

I like the idea, but Ive probably only shut it down a half dozen times in 14 years. I’d probably damage my knee more on the cover.
