Certainly lots of pickups that have towed more than they're rated for. Believe me, I've done plenty. The fact remains, however, that manufacturers cannot keep increasing tow ratings with each new generation indefinitely. At some point, they'll have reached (or exceeded) the maximum that a vehicle of a given weight can safely tow. I believe that, in general, they are at that point now.Trust me, the Rams (not “Dodge” for almost 15 years) are capable of towing far more than what they are rated for.
Ask me how I know….
An F-150 is a toy to me, so how they tow is of no consequence.
