So from my research when they came out with the 201T they kind of let it go a little to early because the 540XP was released, people had a hard time moving from the 200T to the 201T for several reasons. Stihl apparently fixed the earlier 201T issues and added a little power to the "MS 201 T C-M" with the M-tronic.

From what I understand The 201T M-tronic is as good a saw with just a muffler mod as the 200T was, that is what arborist's are saying anyway. The original 201T can be altered and have more power than the old 200T. I don't mind doing a muffler mod if it's needed on the C-M but It may be just fine for me.

From what I read, people that use the saws everyday for the most part would rather have the CS-355T than a 540XP.

It's looking like a 201T C-M at this point. I kinda wish I could look at the CS-355T but in my location it's not going to happen. I like looking things over, putting them in my hands to see what I think and I can't do that with the Echo. I may look at the 540XP but from what I read, it's not well liked but who knows I may love the feel of it.. I'll head out after I clean up this snow tomorrow morning and report back with what will be my next top handle saw..

So yesterday I went on Echo's website and tried to put a CS-335T with a 14 inch bar and chain in my basket, figured well for half the price of the Sthl and Husky maybe I'll try one, nope can't do it, the only option is a 16 inch bar and chain, so I email Echo and there response is below:

"Thank you for your e-mail to ECHO Incorporated! I apologize for the inconvenience but you cannot personalize what size chain the bar with will come with. Its rare that dealers do not sell the chainsaw as is from the factory.

:What size bar the chain will come with"? ( well I hope it would come with the same size bar and chain) So I can't personalize a product that I am buying from a manufacture that manufactures many different configurations??. That's weird and a new one on me.. 16 is to long for a 35cc saw and I don't need the length because I have bigger saws to cut bigger wood.

I have bought many saws over the years and never have I heard of such a thing. After I removed the foot of snow we got last night I drove to the Husqvarna and Stihl dealers. Checked them both out and found I liked the 201T best, haven't cut anything with it to feel the difference between the 200T I had and this 201T. It starts a lot easier than the 200T that's for sure.

When the tech brought it out back for a trial run, I told him to the put the can mix in it because the saw will never see a drop of ethanol..

Good for you! You can't go wrong with a Stihl, especially over time. Just so you know, it's now recommended to release the tension on the crank bearings by loosening the bar nut after EACH use, especially when new...
I too only use E-10 'free' gas and Stihl's ultra oil. I believe if you buy it with the saw, and use it consistently, that is part of the extended warranty - check with your dealer before 1st use.
Show some new pics of chips flying once you have her going smooth. Know that it will run better after a few tanks of fuel. Try not to rev her too much at least for the first tank, or two.
Good luck, enjoy the new saw....

Yes I bought a 6 pack of the moto mix to get the better warranty. I'll go easy of it for a few tanks of fuel, didn't know about the bar nut. Yes I use the Ultra stuff as well.. Thanks for the input guys..

Echo Corporate isn't very bright I guess..

That is what I found on Ebay this morning but it was $375.00 shipped. I think I might buy one from you're link anyway.. I could use two of them every now and again, If I don't like it I can sell it easy enough.. I don't think there is such a thing as having to many chainsaws..
