I did have other issues (in only 14000 miles)but, that is not the problem, the problem is the lack of ability to repair it.

Ultrarunner - Thank you. If they would, I may consider that. My problem is I am guessing I am stuck at a RAM dealer, and I am not sure I want to make that mistake again due to their customer service and apparent inability to repair trucks.

I talked to RAM recall dept, customer service and rental services as well as the dealer. The part is not been released as per RAM recall, and the dealer as well as the notice I received. Another dealer out of state that I spoke with also confirmed the information.

Not until Stellantis gets their act together and improves their quality control.

I've also got a Jeep Wrangler and for several years now brand new Jeeps have been having electrical problems...many times because the relays and fuses in the fuse boxes aren't seated all the way. Standard instructions were for new Jeep owners to go into the fuse boxes and push in every fuse to make sure they were properly seated. This last year I'm seeing the same complaints on the HD Ram forums. Are you kidding me??? The workers who are putting these together can't even be bothered to properly install fuses? What else is not properly put together on these trucks? Are the United Autoworkers union members trying to work themselves out of a job?

That would be workers at the Saltillo Mexico plant on all the HD trucks everything but the 1500's , iianm

So no not UAW workers.

It’s everywhere and happening to all manufacturers.
For example:
This just happened to me last week. I rented a new Caterpillar 275XE forestry mulcher and it overheated. Only had 40 hours on it.
I shut engine off and found this:

Coolant hose blew off because assembly line worker didn’t slide hose clamp on far enough past the “barb” on the fitting.
Luckily I caught the alarm quickly and shut it down before the engine was ruined. I bet that engine would be $35,000 to replace.

😱

Great catch.

Is that even a barb fitting? Almost looks like an inverted flare from here, which makes me wonder if there is a fitting missing.

All the best, Peter

Those fittings are very common for cooling hoses. 13 psi doesn’t require the same type of barb fitting as higher pressure systems.

Being that the vehicle was built and certified with the anti-lock braking system, Stellantis will own the liability if people get hurt in an accident. I would assume that is forcing the do-not-drive warning. If people died in an accident and a good lawyer gets their teeth into the cause, it could cost them huge. Will Stellantis just pass the buck to the truck owner saying they should not have been driving it?

To the OP, if the Ram dealer was willing to give you the same fair value for your truck now as if it was a running truck, I would take another chance on a new Ram that you want, and trade it immediately ! If you are a long tiime customer, they should have no problem with that ! I would even be tempted to deal directly with the new vehicle sales manager ! Win-win !

I'm not an attorney, but from this arm chair, "For sure". In the same way that they would try to disown a 3rd party repair or fix.

@Code54 isn't there a class action lawsuit over this that was settled? (Not that $3k makes up for your pain and suffering...)

All the best, Peter
