That's a good mulching head. Too bad CAT didn't have the new design out. Same motor and rotor but body is completely sealed to keep debris out (including where door cylinder is) and head has lower profile and redesigned skids sit on the ground a little better.

Where's the rooftop oil cooler? I was told when buying a NEW 299D "2"/299D XHP "2" that it would come as a standard feature along with the forestry debris kit from the factory! I would also make them throw in the standard auxiliary couplers to supply oil flow to your 4 in 1 bucket, grapples, augers, etc... If not, they're about a $2500.00 add on! I had to make adaptors for mine which were nothing but a pain in the but until my local branch negotiated with me for an install. Salesmen and corporate America "HA" Go figure??

It would be nice if it were included but its not. Sure it could be added for a price. I think the couplers and hoses on your 415 head are larger than the ones on the 315. Everything here has turned to mud and they are calling for a flash freeze tonight so it will be a while until we get to play with it in the woods.

I ran my old 315 for a few months before the 415 was delivered. My dealership installed bigger fittings on the hoses coming off the mulcher to accommodate the larger fittings on the loader arms. I think you'll really like that tractor, Over all, I can't complain. CAT has got a pretty neat little rooftop cooler if you ever need to install one and the price isn't too bad either. Good luck to you and keep us posted on how she performs.

Hi,

How many hours will a tank full of fuel last to you, my 279c only last six hours, a pain in the backside
