Thanks for the replies, the tractor now starts with more gusto and no click. It obviously was not getting a full 12 volts to the starter.
Has enyone ever used a starter solenoid stud extender. I ordered one because I am not happy with the wires crowded on now. it is 5/16 x 24 thread, I believe.

As long as there tight and make good contact with the flat part of the eyelet the nut is really there just to hold it, not so much of a contact point.

So far, I have ordered 2 solenoid stud extenders, 1- 5/16 x 24 and 1- 5/16 x 18 and neither one seems to fit. Is this a metric stud? and if so, where would I find a stud extender? Any help will be appreciated
