Let me finish my question.

snowblower 1500.00
driveshaft and stop 530.00
shoes inside blower not on back of unit included in price
shute deflector cable 99.00

total 2100.00 plus tax
this for a 2000 blower used around Winchester Va not a lot of use

paint missing in blower area and about a 4-6 " wide area middle of blower
besides that looks in good shape
Wondering would this be a good deal ??????
or pay appx 2700-2900 for a new one????????

I assume by "drive shaft and stop" that you mean the whole front QH (quick hitch) assembly that fits your machine?

It does not have the hydraulic chute rotation?

It does not sound like a "killer" deal for a 9 Y/O unit to me...

I just sold a 48" yanmar blower that needed some paint but ran fine for $275, and bought a new Metor 72" with hyd chute control 2 years ago for $2080. Sounds like they want to make a weeks profit on one used unit.

I bought one last year for a 455 and it cost me $1200. That was for the blower, quick hitch, jack shaft, wheel weights, suitcase weights and tire chains. There was some paint scrapes from a gravel driveway but it is nice and smooth.

I already have the quick hitch. and it does have hyd rotation.
Main paint missing looks like it was from be used on a gravel drive
Also this is at a Deere dealer .

I think it is too much money for what you are getting but then again they are hard to find used. I guess at the end of the day it is worth as much as you are willing to pay....

I would offer $1500 CASH money...and maybe bargain up to $1800-but no more. They are hard to come by used...but it's still 9 years old.

It seemed high to me for a 9-10yr old unit when he was telling me his price. Now I'm waiting to hear from my dealer to see what price he was going to make on a new or left over from last yr or if he had a used one at one of the other stores they have.

He says he will need to order the shaft and stop for appx 530 retail

He said he would throw in the better shoes and instead of 111 selling the spout cable for 99

ET,

As the other guys mentioned it doesn't sound like a killer deal. However, the front blower is a killer piece of equipment and a front blower is the only way to move big snow with these little tractors.

Used units are hard to come by. I was able to find a used unit on ebay for less ($1200), but it took an additional 5-10 hours of metal working to fashion a quickhitch to fit my tractor, and hey that's free right?

Mine was in rough, but good condition. I've replaced u-joints and it's a great attachment that works well. I wouldn't be too scared of old but with your price of having to buy new components for it as well, it's only a "less than new price". Not a great deal...but hey, eight hundred bucks is eight hundred bucks right?

I bought this exact same blower for my X475. I bought it this July. It was used, and came off a tractor that had 5 (yes FIVE) Hours on it. The blower was maybe used to 2-3 hrs at the most. It looks brand new, and was stored inside. It is a 1 yr old model, and I paid $1,700 for it installed on my tractor.
Your dealer is way too high on a roughed-up unit.

JCB Quick hitch is not included in price I have a quick hitch for front angle blade.
True it may only have 5-10 hrs use being it is now close to Winchester Va
I still haven't heard from my dealer is see what his price is going to be either on a new or used blower.
I haven't called this dealer back to see if he would take a lower price

A new one 47" ,shaft, stop kit, better shoes, and spout cable

2575 plus tax

and the used one (10 yrs old ) same setup
2100 plus tax

Makes sense to me to buy the new NO BRAINER on this end

May wait to Nov see if any different credit offers

Thanks for all the help!!!!

Agreed - but I'd still offer them $1500 cash - it would be worth that and I'd bet they'd take it.

I agree by your numbers to get the new one , unless he comes down on that used price ...

I'd be curious to know if the used one is the Dealers stock or a consignment deal ???

What is this Stop Kit you speak of , never heard of it ???

Later,x595

Remember at $2575 does not include front quick hitch that lists for $614 wouldbe $3189 and appx $60 (guessing at that discount)off that price would be $3125 about $75 off your quote.

Talked w dealer with used blower today and he says the lowest he will go is $2000. Says if I bought the used unit with all items quick hitch, blower, shaft , and upstop he would sell it to me for $1500.00 , but with me only needing the used blower, and new shaft, upstop ,shoes, and spout control he would have appx 800.00 in new parts.

We both agree'd that when the 1st snow in his area he may not have to come down in price and I said I would call and maybe he would come down on price because no one in his area had called .
We laughed and I told him I would call him around the first of Dec.

Who knows !!!!!
