I think I'm in need of a head gasket but wanted to confirm.

Runs/starts great but quickly overheats and pukes coolant. I put a bottle on the overflow hose and am getting lots of air bubbles. No coolant in the oil though. I just installed a new radiator cap to make sure that wasn't the issue but no change.

Sounds like a head gasket to me but any other ideas?

I agree with your assessment.

One more comment - if you suspect compression is getting into the cooling system then there is a chance there could be water in a cylinder the next time you start it. So crank with the compression released for a few revolutions, to flush out any water, before starting it.

Auto parts will rent or Borrow one. Radiator Pressure test Just attach it with the correct cap and see how much pressure the radiator does have in it. Should be around 13-16 PSI. your checking the pressure build up from a bad Gasket,Warped Head, Crack in Head/Block Etc.. real easy to Chk.. Harbour frieght, Walmart has kits cheap!!

Thank you. It will be a while before I can dig into this but sounds like I have some work to do.
