I bought an almost new 1025R back in December; the engine temp barely reaches 1/4 off the stop. I’m not running it for that long, nor am I running it beyond 2,500rpms, and it’s been relatively cold in Virginia. I don’t know much about the power unit in these... something to be concerned about, or not?

I have a 2018 2025R (same engine as your 1025R) and in winter, the temp gauge is about the width of the needle off the post. In 80 degree summer, it may get 2-3 needles worth. The only people that have problems with the temperature are those with heated cabs. They either block most of the radiator with cardboard or they change the 160 degree thermostat to a 180 degree one to get more heat in the cab.

If you don't have the cardboard in front of your radiator try blowing air through it from the back to the front. Dust tends to collect in the fins and reduce cooling efficiency.

No concern at all. Replace the 160 Stat with the 180. I'm happier with how it runs.
