1,000,000th Post Appreciation Thread

TBN means a lot of good info for all that need help with their tractors and equipment. most of you out their have newer tractors than me mine is a 85 JD 750 but the price was right ! i was still able to find info i needed for it !

I like looking for new ways to do things, easy, on a number of different items (fence, tractor, mower, barn, etc. etc.)..And have found numerous ways to accomplish this on this forum. Thank you to all the gear heads, mechanics, engineers, (oops!! they are special) Engineers, welders, dealers, farmers, ranchers, property owners, police, firemen, soldiers, women, children, and everyone else that makes up this online community. Here's what TBN has meant to me:

Without it last year (before I found out about it): I mistakenly bought a JD lawn tractor. Nice for what it is.

After finding TBN, I knew I needed to have something a little bigger, better traction, one that had hydraulic lift capacity front and rear, and one that would take a beating.

After much reviewing of threads, visiting a number of dealers, and trying out several different models, I selected my Tractor, which seems to fit my needs so much better.

More than any of that, though, with TBN, I never feel alone about having a tractor. I'm not a farmer. I have no farmer friends. I'm really like the guy on Green Acres. My wife wanted to move out to the country. I've lived in the city my whole life. I thought it might be a good change. I know nothing about tractors. But with these guys being so helpful, the intimidation of the whole thing has slowly warn down. When I have a problem, a question, a new idea, I run it by the guys in the Kubota forum. One guy even saved me a trip to the hospital by strongly recommending kevlar chaps which I bought, and a few days later cut with my chain saw when it snapped back on me.

Thank you TBN. You are priceless to me.

I learned about three important recalls on my kubota RTV900 i would have never known about. Literally saved me thousands. Hows that for apprecation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! 1,000,000 posts! That's amazing.

I remember back when Bird was trying to figure out how to make a top and tilt for his tractor (a classic thread) and Harv was determining what tractor to buy. It is humbling to think about all of the people that have joined and shared their experiences, knowledge and hopefully some wisdom with others in a very cheerful open and non-intimidating manner.

While there may be 1,000,000 posts, I wonder how many posts have been read and how many people have been helped in some small (or large) way over the years? TBN has been a solid source of good information -- let's keep it that way!

I guess, or at least hope that some of the horror stories posted on TBN have put a little fear into new tractor owners. Owning a tractor is a great feeling. The power of even the smallest tractor is unbelievable compared to pulling something by hand, or digging around a bush for hours, and a new hole to move it a few feet. Looking through some of the posts on the millionth posting, it seems that a lot of folks are getting something out of this forum. City people with new land to work up look at TBN for information. Older farmers, with long memories, and the experience to prove it, have been known to post on TBN. I've posted on TBN to try to give someone the benefit of my experience. I know that I have benefited from the experience of so many more people than just my little corner of the world. New tractor and equipment buyers can ask worldwide "What will work for me?" Greatest thing about TBN is that you can ask any question, and give it a while to think about it. Take the best information, and apply it gently. Even if you don't get that new tractor, and decide to rent, or make the big leap, and do get that machine you were looking at, TBN will provide the experience and knowledge to keep good folks from hurting themselves, or others. I support that ideal ! Doesn't hurt to have to have the biggest community of compact tractor buyers either. I'd be lying if I said that TBN didn't have a say in my last tractor purchase!!! Sidey

What does TBN mean to me?
I first stumbled across TBN in 2003 when I was trying to figure out how to get control of my acreage chores. My ZTR mower and 30+ year old lawn tractor weren't cutting it. (literally and figuratively!) As I began to consider the options of a CUT, I had no idea what was what. I did some searches on the web, and luckily one of the results put me on to TBN. I read as many posts as I could, learned what I needed to be looking for and what might work best for my needs.
After I located two possible units, I posted a thread and asked for input. I received several great responses and enough encouragement to go for one of them! TBN folks are great at spending other peoples' money!!
Since then, I continue to view TBN almost daily, to keep up on all of the latest. Some of the projects I see on here are amazing. The collective IQ of this group has to be incredible.
Another great thing here is the lack of name calling and otherwise immature behavior I have seen on some other message board groups. I know the moderators do a great job, but I believe that most of the members tend to make it pretty easy.
Not much else to say except Happy 1,000,000th post TBN and here's to a couple of million more since we're on a roll!

TBN is a fantastic resource of like-minded individuals who care enough to offer advice to anyone that asks. Makes me more confident in starting a project if I get a couple of "yes's" and a little more ambitious, knowing there are folks out there to offer ongoing advice!

For myself, the 'build it yourself' has provided many inspirations and hours of reading. Having learned a lot I also like to contribute whenever I think I can help.
Also enjoy the humor that seems to pop up frequantly.
All in all the 'TBN' family is a great enjoyable group to belong to.
All we need now is 'The great TBN annual convention' so that we can all meet and view all these toys we drool at.

I have found great ideas and loads of help on TBN.

I wish I would have found it before I was looking for a new tractor. Great info from guys who know what they are talking about. Not sales BS.

Congratulations to TBN. Several years ago I ran across this site and I must say that this site was my sole source of information when buying my NH TC21D. The people here are wonderful and willing to help at a moments notice. Happy 1 million and here's to another million.

TBN has been alot of friendship for me, Harv and the rest of the Norte Tejas crew sure made a young pup feel right at home. I've learned more from the half dozen or so days I've spent with Eddie and Harvey than I learned in 2 years of shop classes.
