I joined TBN a little over a year now and have gained valuable experience in both things I already knew (or thought I knew) and many new subjects. Considering that this is the first time I have lived on rural property and purchased a JD 3320 tractor, I really appreciate learning from the wisdom and others mistakes so I don't make the same ones and get the job done correctly the first time around. I also hope that some of my posts have helped others as much as theirs have helped me.

Thanks again for a great community for us to share our knowledge, ideas and complaints.

Derek

What this site means to me? I consider it the ultimate resource for answers on compact tractors. As a bonus, I've learned quite a bit of other stuff in some of the other forums here like country living. I hope I help with my occassional posts in the Lawn & Garden tractor forum. I've enjoyed the site very much. And I appreciate the help from all the folks here that answered my questions.

One of the things that makes TBN so successful is the moderators. They keep the site clean, the content appropriate and the discussions amicable. I think this is a driving force behind the type of members and posters this site attracts.

As for the members, there're none finer. The nature of the site attracts folks with a common bond and sense of values. We're able to discuss differences and commonalities with equal vigor, but we're always mindful of the other posters values and respect their views. It's helped form a band of brethren that crosses the country and circles the globe.

We've watched our "virtual friends" win awards, celebrate births and even get married. As friends, we've been there to give advice, lend a sympathic ear and offer our heartfelt condolences in times of grief.

It's no surprise that this site has reached 1 million posts, 2 million won't be far behind.

When I joined TBN I did not have a tractor or know much about them. The people on here helped me learn enough, that now I am the proud owner of my own Kubota with a lot of TBN addons. Thanks everyone

Great site. Nothing inappropriate, just people willing to share their knowledge with others. One of the best sites on the web.

Well... TractorByNet convinced me to purchase my Jinma tractor. After reading many of the posts from all the people that use this board I figured I couldn't go wrong. I can't describe in this appreciation thread how many different ways I've used the tractor, but it has been a good investment.

I'm sure all the users find the board useful, regardless of what type of information their looking for.

Thanks for providing a place for users to exchange ideas and information on a variety of topics.

Dear Fellow TBNers,

First let me say what an honor it is to have met and shared with all of you during the past eight years (since August 1998, I think). I have never felt as inspired as I do now looking at the literally one million messages that you all have made, it just staggers the mind. Of course as my sons, Ibrahim & Muhammad, are the original inspiration for this site, I am especially proud of them too.

As many of you remember, at the beginning we were all so thrilled to have any place to “connect,” to stop and say hello, to share, to educate, and to exchange ideas on a vast array of topics.

As I personally have read at least several hundred thousand of these messages, I am amazed to find so many truly creative voices, the “stories” of peoples lives, that are so much more interesting and meaningful than just “facts.”

Remember the line we invented at one point to summarize what TBN is all about: “Neighbors helping neighbors.” I think that pretty well sums it all up.

As you can tell by reading these posts in this thread, the notion of friendly help has taken on a life of its own. It is literally true that TBN touches people in every state, and a great many foreign countries. It is no exaggeration to say that "the sun never sets on TBN."

So I say to all of you who have been the ones who “made” TBN what it is: THANK YOU ALL! But more than the tremendous contributions of the esteemed members and guests, our extremely dedicated Moderators deserve more credit than anyone, for their selfless service, being present at all times, and for their understanding, patience and forbearance.

Okay folks, let’s gas ‘em up and go -- on to two million! It promises to be a great ride, like no other. TBN IS AMAZING!

I am addicted to online forums and visit at least eight most workdays. The information I've learned from them is not only priceless but would be impossible to acquire any other way.

TractorByNet is the first and last forum I visit each day and the one I visit most frequently (owning my business has some advantages.... not the least of which is not caring that employees will see this forum on my monitor many times during the day).

Of all the forums I visit, TractorByNet is the ONLY one where I refer to the members as "my online friends". I use that term because it's true. Hopefully the next generation of computers will allow us to enjoy virtual cool drinks or coffee together too. All the other forums have just "other members".

This site markets a book that saved me much grief. I thought I wanted a CUT but after buying and reading the book, I realized that the CUT was not suited for my terrain or uses.

Without TBN I would've never heard of Power-Trac, which is what I bought and what I'm using most weekends instead of looking at forums. Since there is no dealer network for the little tractor, it is through TBN that any operation or service or modification questions get answered.

What a sucsess of a web site.

I was rebuilding an old TO-20 and Soundguy steped right in and helped through the process. Started shopping for a replacement tractor and BlueChip and GregG helped much. 3RRL with similar tractors and fun projects from a true machinest..HighBeam and our Concrete home plans. And I can't leave out EddyWalker, Texas tractor man with a wife weilding a high powered rifle!

Friends!, That's what it's all about. Some new and some from the start. Hey a few fights and or stepping on a few toes, but......

I will proudly place my TBN bumber sticker next to my "What would Scooby Do?" bumper sticker.

TBN started out as a very useful resource for buying my first tractor. However, I have found that my interests and outlook very much match most of the members on this site. I come here first looking for help for my tractor, fixing a well pump, getting advice on a new roof and all that other great rural stuff. There is a wealth of information here thanks to all the very knowledgeable and helpful members. And this is the most mature and respectful forum I have come across on the net (and I visit a bunch)! Keep up this great site.

I found this site in 2004 when I was considering my first new tractor. The people on this site have given me expert opinions that have been based on experiences and facts. I saved a couple thousand dollars because of the members here. I have now purchased two tractors and I used this site to save my hard earned money. I have also received invaluable technical data on things such as building a garage, welding, clearing property, and maintaining my tractor. Most people here are professionals and they are willing to share their knowledge.

I don't know where else I could go and get advise as easily and readily from engineers, heavy equipment operators, farmers, construction workers, etc.

My hat is off to tractorbynet.com, it's creator, and to the members here.

Thanks

Todd C.

Last year I was looking to buy my first tractor not knowing anything at all about them. I spent a lot of time lurking on this site finding out the pros and cons of various brands, attachments, etc. I finally bought my Kubota 7800 and promptly put 300 hours on it in less than 12 months and felt I had outgrown it. I came back to Tractorbynet and did more research backed by my knowledge and experience and decided on the Kubota L-39 for my more ambitious projects.

I have learned more from the members than I could ever pick up on my own. Thanks for existing and letting me tap into all the experience.

I seldom post, but I'm here every day. I've learned a great deal about tractors and rural living. Even when I have questions about some project I have in mind, I can usually find the info I need in the archives and other people's posts. TBN is a positive force in my life. Thanks a lot.

Hi All:

What does TBN mean to me? that is a good question and in regards to that it means many things, it is a great place to chat about projects that you are doing, or to ask questions on something you WISH to do and are not exactly sure how to go about it. It is a wonderfull resource for finding help on old, odd or less popular equipment. That is how I got here, by looking for finding and eventually working my into a new on the market import tractor. even though many people seem to think that you have to be a BRAND X guy on most places TBN has more of a ANY BRAND place. This means you can help get help or be around people whith like interests tallents and or outlook on life. Not many people in the world ( let alone USA) today are interested in learning how tractors, farming or working with you're hands is/can be done anylonger. Many of the useable knolage of yeateryear is being lost to the young generation. here is a place to learn from them (myself included) and or teach others & pass on knolage to the rest of the TBN brain trust.

There are very few places ANY where that you are just as likely to find questions on math, ground maintenance or repairing a old impliment as TBN has this. TBN has something for just about ALL of us, as in every person in world, could come here ask a question and get an answer usually with in a day or less as to how to help you. I've had a lot of sucess here as well as helpped a lot of people along the way.

that is what it means. Helping, learning and giving freindship to someone who needs it.

Mark Mattingly

edit in:

I wanted to say that I went back and scanned all through every post, reading all of them from the elete, super and vetrains members: most of these guys names popped out at me as someone that I've read posts on before. but what was even more amaizing was that we all had said pretty much the same thing. that TBN is more than just some forum; it is a place to learn, a place to listen, a place to share, and a place to teach. It is all of those things and more it's a place where people with similar interests can become friends for life.

go TBN reach 1,000.000 posts and beyond

When I need answers about my tractor the info here is better than calling a dealer. It's quicker too. TBN has saved me a lot of time and $$.

Hello all,
I really appreciate all of the great information I have found on TBN. It has given me a lot of insight on things to look for, to stay away from, and more. I don't think there is a better board on the net. I appreciate all that goes into the site to make it that way.

Tractorbynet is Democracy in action and an example of what the best of America may have been 225 years ago. That seem overblown? I don't think so: This (cyber) community is made up of all kinds of people from all over who, for 1M posts, share knowledge, support, kindness, humor, criticism, facts and opinions. I haven't come across any meanness or hatefulness here at all. But I have had glimpses in to people's lives and projects from the green hills of New England to the sandy scrub of the high plains, and people right in my own back yard. This is a compendium of wisdom and life's lessons for all to enjoy and benefit by. Thank you.
