Gosh, this is exciting! I was here before it was TBN Things were different then; instead of minute, it took hours, maybe even days for an answer!

This place has been great. There are many great contributors. There have been some many great threads. In this one place, you can ask about tractors, talk about your dog, the new attachment you bought, how tough your truck is or isn't, you kid in Scouts, School, the phase of the moon in relation to traction in the field.

It really is an amazing place to play

I was as new to tractors as you could get. City boy moving out to the country and trying to figure out how to take care of the land I purchased. Thanks to this website I was able to get a great little used tractor for a good price. You could basically say that TBN has taught me everything about my tractor.

TBN has just been a wealth of information for me since moving back to KS and buying our 20 acres.
What surprises me most about all those involved on TBN is the courtesy, knowledge, and respect that everyone seems to give each other. Much more than a lot of other forums on the net.
The quality and breadth of subjects is unmatched anywhere on the net. I have not posted much as most of the information is already there somewhere.

I joined here in Feb 2001 - bought my tractor that April - although I owned an old 8n prior -- I just never did use it that much so never learned much on it. As everyone else has mentioned this is the place to learn! This place as has saved my butt from making a multitude of stupid mistakes, provided guidance in the correct way to do just about everything I do, given me ideas and cost me money because of it, made me a lot of friends - let me meet local neighbors that I wouldn't have otherwise met, and provided entertainment every morning with my coffee at my desk at work (shhhh) .
I wish I could have vocalized as well as Eddie -- I ditto his remarks -- This "place" is a community of friends around the world. Need proof? A bunch of Texans met near Dallas a couple of years ago and were joined by phone from a TBN friend in Australia! BTW we are getting together again this weekend! What I'm trying to get to is -- this has become not just a group of internet friends - but it has run over into the "real" world. It is the most informative, helpful, friendly, social group of folks I have ever encountered and I hope we can keep TBN alive and well for years to come. Thank you to everyone responsible - creators, moderators, admins, and users for making this the site that it is.

There's always a few "hot topics" for those of us so inclined to DEBATE an issue, even when we don't have a dog in the fight. I found TBN in early 2005 after I bought 10 acres here in Northern CA and was in tractor trade-off mode. Finally pulled the trigger in May05 on a Kubota B7510HST after several weeks of reading TBN posts.

Since then I've become a tractor addict, adding a 1966 MF-135 diesel in July06 to my growing collection of tractors and implements. I've become so dependent on TBN that I use the search feature anytime I start a new project, before going to farm auctions, before making any kind of tractor-related purchase.

I've used the personal mail feature quite a bit and found this to be a great way to make friends and to discuss things of mutual interest outside the regular chat rooms.

I've participated in many other forums but TBN is by far the best investment of time I've found on the Net.

I knew ZERO about tractors before finding this forum. All I knew is I needed one. Through searches and questions I quickly got all my questions answered and found made a purchase. It was a great relief to be able to compare prices and see what others were paying as well. I now find myself returning the favor and helping others who were in the same position as me.

TBN has been very helpful in my purchase of my first tractor and learning what I can really do with it. This has lead to the backyard full of used implements. When my wife's uncle died we aquired some of his old equipment and now she is regretting the tractor I would also have to go with the virtual seat time. This is great reading during lunch.

TBN allows me the opportunity to share tractor experiences - both good and bad. Learning and hearing of information in an open forum has allowed me to equip my tractor properly and operate it safely.

TBN is a must read on the daily browsing circuit.

I have enjoyed mostly all the information people have shared for free with people they may never meet in their lifetime. I was completely unknown to tractors before I stumbled across this site. It has done more for me than any school or book could because for every situation there's someone out there who's been there too.

If I've helped even 1 person somehow I feel my efforts here are well worth it.

TBN is so addictive, I feel a little sneaky sometimes when I just HAVE to log on and check the topics. I'm partial to my brand (NH/Ford) but interested in the perils, advice and hints, and plain old help so many posters provide. Just about everyone is decent to each other, thanks to the forum rules and the cooperation of all the posters. That's what makes it a pleasure to return to each time.
