Also don’t panic. I have had the hose pop off the injector and spray diesel everywhere. Diesel is really hard to ignite. Not saying to drive it around for a long time like that but it isn’t like gas

Don’t cut anything off. Make a pattern of the plate from it and make your own. I made 6 of my own.

Yeah Peter. On my machine it’s 4psi max on soft 4 ply tires. Your situation the trains probably due increase your traction.

In regards to the chains. I do use them but they really don’t help with sideways traction. Greatly reduced tire pressure provides the best stiction. Do you see Rock crawlers with chains? Arctic tundra trucks with chains? Heck do any farmers use chains? I honestly ponder if chains aren’t harder...

I run chains in my 1850 and they make slope performance worse, not better. Traction up and down improves but sideways you slide quicker.

So a blade on the outside rotor popped free and hit the middle rotor. It’s happened in the past. This time I did not catch it and it must have ripped the metal free. I restarted and it stated to pull itself apart. Thankfully it’s wet as heck here cause the shower of sparks was pretty impressive.

I am going to do my own rebuild this year on a leaky wheel motor. In my area there is an extensive wait for rebuild services and the price is almost equal to just buying new.

Por15 in my rusty tank. Where we live with 50” of rain a year minimum you are always battling rust although it is not related, just condensation.

Nope. 9k for a broken arm. No insurance. 19k for a 425. Two arms for the price of a tractor.

Did the same thing. Grounds on top of grounds. And oddly my guage has a ground short that just showed up.

My belt broke. Surprisingly easy repair. The pushrods are designed to bend but people freak out at the thought. Valves are super tough. If all you have is a broken belt it’s an easy fix.

95% of the time it’s your steering cylinder seals worn out. The other 5% is either your pump or steering valve.

We use bucket traps. The kind where the lid tips and they fall in. Instead of water it’s filled with oil. Works quite well.

My kingdom for a machine that clean.

What Moss says. Jeez. $400? Totally worth buying a stick welder. Even if you have send cut send make the parts it would be way cheaper.

A few things. Order a bunch of adapter plates. Order anything else right now as well. Shipping costs are too high to not bundle as much as you can.

I would not recommend the building manufacturer (metal sales out of Denver if I am correct). Cold rolled style building but it lacked fineness. Leaks a bit due to poor quality design.

You will fill the space. So make it as big as you can afford. I was told to make it big enough for 12ft doors as someone will want to drive a motor home into it.

Did you check to make sure the pistons are moving. Kohler is notorious for breaking rods.

You might want to check with a shop that rebuilds starters but my replacement solenoid sucks. Will only shut off if I drop one to idle.

I hate to even suggest this but we have had a kohler twin break the rods. It sounded like it was turning over but the pistons …. If you can check compression

Yes. And this machine has specialized brakes but by the time I figured out what was going on I was in top of the logs.

Its a 2006. It does have the brakes but they won’t activate unless pile severely drops or the engine stalls. In truth I didn’t freewheel very far and it took me a moment to realize what was going on.

I doubt there is any adverse effect on the wheel motor but you are maybe talking 40lbs of added weight. Not much with a 26” tire.

In my area there is a ton of logging. I bought a hose guard at the logging supply store. It’s jut a u shaped hardened plastic. I cut it down and shoved it sideways over the metal of the tub. So far ( 8 years) and it looks fine.

We use a York rake for our snow. Many more uses throughout the year

So the acetone / atf is probably the best penetrant mix. And old farmer truck is wax. Heat the metal up a bit and push a candle into the crack area. Wax really creeps along and I have seen it work. Also just loosening the nut and doing a grind might solve the problem.

Just fyi for you who choose to rebuild your own cylinders. It is much easier to loosen the cap on the tractor than off.

I made my own stump grinder. I took my dimensions to the local machine shop and they cut me a wheel that had all the teeth bolt holes in the right spot. Cost was minimal.

If you aren’t bogging the engine it’s probably a relief valve. My engine will pull through but you do notice a drag when the pto solenoid is engaged.

Yup. I had the same issue. A bit of water in the bottom of my tank caused rust and then mayhem. I cut the top open in the tank so I could reach in and sand then hit it with por. No issues since.

Yes to tubes. All my low pressure use tubes and last a lot longer but in the end Hard pointy sticks get in at the rim and tear the tubes.

So yea on the solenoid. Undo the screw / nut on the magnet. Pull the magnet off, use a bit of emery to remove the rust. Put it back together. That said. Solenoids die. Run a 12volt directly to it if cleaning does not fix it to test.

If it where me I would look around for a mower head from a golf course mower. Those can be had at a good price and for a couple hundred you could have someone adapt it.

Those valve coils do pull a lot of juice.

IMO pts mower is mediocre. The brush mower is better. If you want a good grass mowing buy a dedicated mower.

My initial thought is you did not have the connectors for the mower in tight. If you flip the switch and the engine dies your valve is working correctly.

About the same price as a gas replacement.

When I store a utility I connect the hoses together to keep them clean. If you want some fun do that in December then try disconnecting in the hot July sun.

Oil filters as tight as you can get it by hand. Do not use a wrench to tighten. All gasketed filters should be 3/4 turn after gasket contact. If you are leaking you may have another issue. Too high pressure or a warped oil pump plate.

Pumps. Hoses. Dated machine. Fun project but not cheap and end results probably not worth it.

No pictures but I am using my York rake on my mile long gravel driveway to remove snow and ice. It’s less destructive than a blade and digs down and breaks up the ice.

On my 1850 we have both automatic and hand pump for the brakes in case you can’t get the engine started and need to move. It’s a pita and I had to do it a couple of times (hand pump) but it can be done.

As for pt I hear they are doing great considering. That said they are faced with a major redesign loosing the diesels they had so I am sure energy has shifted until they get those new machines online.

I doubt the barrel is made in the USA. Importing is a pita . That said I believe pt works on an assembly line model. They make 50 of x then 50 of y so they do run out.

Just wanted to reitterate, if you have a cutlist you can premake your hoses, and use the old hose to pull the new hose through. Works way better than fishtape. I have a collection of male to male connectors just for this purpose.

I had a smelly mist on my 1850. Injector hose ruptured and was spraying into the cooling fan. Freaked out. Grabbed the extinguisher and waites fir it to all cool down.

You ever look at your lawnmower? Gas tank bolted on the engine next to the exhaust. And the tank is plastic.

Just be prepared that the machine won’t be perfect. Pt has a tendency to ship with a loose hose or bolt. Otherwise it’s going to rock.

In a slower "farm application" (not trying to get up the hills quickly) the belts proved problematic. We switched to a variety of brands but they didn't engage very well. On top of it, the implementation of 4WD on the RZR is kind of garbage. Usually kicked in at the wrong moments.

One end of one steering cylinder is shot, but mainly the ears that hold them to the chassis are wallowed out.

10ply is too thick for much over 30 degrees. 4ply and low pressure are the only thing that is going to give you any stiction. That all said, I probably will buy some Firestone floation tires next time around. I chase punctures constantly (5 to 10 a year at $30 per fix gets expensive quick).
