Got a picture at the logging shop today of what went over the lip of my tunnel. Been there for a number of years.

Any hydraulic hose shop will have them. I just ask for the plastic hose protector the have different sizes..

Yeah, there ya go. The Amazon version is what I have, and it is made just down the river from us.

So far I did my best to run a file over the edges and I also try to pressure wash the area to get rid of grit (like someone noticed) and I spray it with the Superlube to reduce friction. At some point I will try some chafe guarding.

My $0.02 would be that in the future, I would use a dry film lubricant (e.g. PTFE) which is less likely to attract dirt/grit.

By memory, PTFE is the secrete ingredient in Superlube. But it looks like they have some kind of binding/grease agent to hold it in place.

Yes, it is the oil/grease that is a dirt attractant.
